Are the remotes working with any yeelight ceiling light ? I tried once to pair a dimmer switch and it didn't work, how do I see if they are compatible? Maybe I didnt consider the 60second brackets

Why did you plug only one end of the neutral cable into the switch and leave the other in the box? Shouldn't you plug both ends into the neutral connector in the switch?

If your liquid soap is thick, mix 1 part soap with 2 parts water. Shake it now and then. Works like a dream. Then you also get rid of the terrible smell the original soap.

Great idea, but why not now expose the switch still to HomeKit so that we can control ANY smart light, not via the Aqara App?

But can I use a double rocker for a single rocker wall switch? One button for the light on/off and one button to control something else. Only 1 gang will be powered from the wall.

Hi got a qns for you which is not relatable to this video. I’m currently planning my lighting system and have shortlisted yeelight. I would require around 35 downlights hence I’m looking at m2 pro which uses a mesh system instead of wifi (I read somewhere anything more than 10 bulbs would be better served with a mesh than wifi right?). Secondly im wondering if i could order them + yeelight mesh from taobao and will it work in Singapore? Apart from the price difference and above questions, what’s the advantage of buying yeelight products from local resellers? Say safety issues?

Hi House To Smart. It's been 1 year since you first posted this video. As I'm new and wanted to try automate my home, I would really want to ask on the region setting. So beside have many device avaliable on the China server instead of international what other issue may happen if device I get have both region, would choosing a China vs international result in delay in response?

Yes, China server basically means routing it through to into China (I believe), hence it really slows down especially at night, based on our own experience. It is also more unstable than international server. In fact we’ve moved away from the China servers almost completely (unless we had no choice).

Hi this steps to turn wired switch into wireless switch to avoid accidentally turn off the smart bulb is very helpful. Thanks for the sharing. But I am wondering does the wall switch need to be a neutral switch? And does it work flawlessly so far? As I am seeing some forum say they had difficulty to change to wireless through mi app but apple home kit can’t recognise it as wireless switch. Do you have the same experience? TIA appreciate your advice as I am new in setting up my new smart home.

Hi there. We’re glad you found it useful! I haven’t non neutral Aqara switches yet - when we started our home automation journey, the word on the street was the Aqara Non-Neutral switches had issues. But there was also word that it was an initial batch that was causing this. To be honest I would try non- neutral switches if it’s too much hassle to deal with setting neutral lines up. Regarding apple - apple HomeKit doesn’t recognise the “switch to wireless switch” feature. I.e you will not see a new switch appear in your home kit, and HomeKit will control the switch as if it was a normal smart switch. You can only use this feature via the Aqara or Mi Home app. I have no problems setting the switches to “wireless switch” so far.

Hi There. Sorry I have one more question hope you can help. Does this decoupling steps work for two gang aqara wall switch? Meaning can I choose to which gang to be decoupled individually or decouple both gangs and one each gang to control different smart light? I am planning to order aqara switch soon so your advice can help me to know which one to order. TIA.

Typically flickering should not be a problem with neutral switches. What kind of bulb is it?

simply remove the cap with a flat screwdriver and re install it much more easier and quicker... no need drill , drill tip, funnel etc...

You shouldn’t use these switches for high current use cases like water heaters. They’re not rated for that.

When does the wireless switch function turn on? When I open the Mi Home or Aqara hub app on my phone? I ask this because wifi at home is always on regardless when I'm in or out of the house and would love the smart switch wireless function as well as pressing of the switches function to on/off the lights, depending on the ease of convenience.
