Tricia, at the end of every day, I sit and reflect on all of what you touched on before my head hits the pillow. The problem is that after a few hours of sleep, the stuff I should've mind dumped comes back in a huff. I didn't always watch your last 28 days (caught a few) of your posts here on KZbin. But the few I did were helpful. Thank you to the hardest working woman (that's you) I have followed since my recovery started. I've learned a lot and want to let you know I appreciate all the tools you suggested. 🙏 ❤
@turningleavesrecovery662610 ай бұрын
Hey Robert! First I want to say thank you for your compliment and for watching when you can (do feel free to go back and watch the days you missed at your leisure - although most effective when they are done in order) As for those thoughts coming back after you have dumped them.... that is normal when you first start this practice... but the more you redirect yourself the less it will happen over time - new tools are amazing - but consider how many years you have had the issue - those night time mental reels are conditioned - you will have to condition this new way to be stronger and it just takes time (I have a new release coming - and I think you will love it - I will make sure that you get notified so you can check it out)

I was experiencing the same thing as you were - on my new computer - so I pulled out the computer where I recorded the video - and it worked on that computer both the original and the KZbin video - so I checked my computer settings and found that I needed to change the speakers that were selected - So with that said I would make sure that you are using the correct audio for your system - as this video is working properly.

I'm not a fan of mocktails or any resemblance to a design of nonalcoholic examples. It's definitely a trigger for me. I prefer bringing my own softdrink or water. Good ideas! 🙌
@turningleavesrecovery6626 Жыл бұрын
Hey @robertzuniga I completely understand that!!! I know this is the case for many people in recovery, and bringing your own soft drink or water is the best and most productive thing to do in this case. It does take special cognitive restructuring, it wasn't until I shifted into a recovered stance that this became safe for me. The key is to know what your unique needs are and to honor them so you don't feel punished or restricted. I hope all is well for you and you have an amazing holiday season. As always feel free to reach out.

Great advice for someone who wants to dive into life coaching. I remember you telling me about "Self First" as a tool for recovery. And that was escaping me in my years prior to my relapse. This without feeling, Guilty, Selfish, Punished or Restricted is something I recently wrote in my daily journal. That didn't come from me? It's something that stuck with me, that I heard from you! Kudos! Have a Great week. 🙂

Self First is critical - it isn't selfish - each person is living their life and although there are others in our lives it is still ours to experience the way we desire. each of us. we must lead by the example. I was talking in our LIVE life skills group last night about how we can self observe effectively on this topic. Here is a highlight Remember we are trying to lead by great example in our relationships. Which means we need to be outwardly: •Treating ourselves the way we want to be treated •Treating others the way we want to be treated •Hearing and listening the way we want to be heard •Seeing the way we want to be seen •Experiencing others and our environment the way we want to be experienced

That's a great explanation of your life experiences. That i didn't know from listening to you before? And being in the hospital, it's so on target of how I feel trying to start over. I never thought that I would be in a position to start over? But listening to add, edit delete, it's a great way to complete the steps as I go and start over! It's a beautiful way of expressing a sense of purpose for a new way to start! Thank you!

Thank you for having me on Tricia, it is a blessing to be here serving with you! We all have struggles in the different dimensions of our lives even as adults. But when we are bringing the baggage from the past along with us it makes our journeys that much harder. We do have a lot to talk about here, as we are serving so many levels as we walk our own talks daily.
