Hello, can we combine the main burner and the rear burner?
@wolfsteeltechnical
@wolfsteeltechnical 8 күн бұрын
Modifications of a grill would void its warranty. The Main and rear burners are controlled separately, as the rear burner is mainly used ith the rotisserie and its accessories. It's not recommended to use the rear burner with the warming rack installed, as the intense heat could cause the warming rack to warp

What is wrong when a large flame comes from the igniter port (Jetfire). Only way to stop the large flame is to turn it to the lowest setting. Can not run at highest setting without the large flame. This is happening on two of the four burners.

Hey! I would check the burner for blockages, as this could cause the gas to be forced out of the Jetfire port. Beyond this, contacting Napoleon's customer solutions team may be your best bet for a final diagnosis. When talking to them, you can request a video chat to show them the issue. You can contact them here: www.napoleon.com/en/ca/barbecues/support/warranties/warranty-claim

What would be the reason for replacing the supply tube?
@wolfsteeltechnical
@wolfsteeltechnical Ай бұрын
Great question, One possibility would be damage due to impact. Another would be poor performance of the rear burner, resulting from the supply tube having a kink in it, or extensive use covered under warranty. It's best to have your technician do a visual inspection of the supply tubes, should the performance of a side or rear burner be in question.

@@wolfsteeltechnical I would love to have a technician look at it. However, when I called Napoleon yesterday, I was on HOLD for 4 long hours and then disconnected. Our Prestige 500 that's only a year old will not light. We did all the required maintenance and it still will not light. The gas does not seem to be flowing at all. Tried cleaning hoses and burners, but still did not operate.

What should be the target static pressure
@wolfsteeltechnical
@wolfsteeltechnical 2 ай бұрын
Hey Derek, This varies with each appliance and depends on the Superheat/subcooling, or Delta T calculations along with fan speeds. You should refer to the product manual to attain the correct Static pressure for the installation. If you're servicing a Napoleon product, you can find helpful info here: www.napoleon.com/en/ca/heating-cooling/support/hvac-professionals-support-center And if you're servicing a Continental product, product info can be found here: www.continentalcomfort.com/en/professionals-support-center/ Hope this helps!

Question. I am restoring a gas grill and it’s rusted on the inside. Should I just wire brush/sand and leave it at that or paint the box with grill paint? Which would be best?

Does this dexen system require more than 1 grounding? Do you need a ground to the valve or 1 ground to the pilot assembly?
@wolfsteeltechnical
@wolfsteeltechnical 6 ай бұрын
The system is grounded through a ground wire in the wire harness and yes, the only way for the flame to be rectified is for the flame sensor path through the control module and wire harness to be ground.

@@wolfsteeltechnical I'm going to try that tomorrow on an unit that I'm having a problem with. It's acting like it's a bad pilot assembly event eventhough it's brand new. I will add another ground to the pilot assembly screw to the ground for the main harness and connect them both to the chassis. I may need to add another ground to the main burner metal flooring for good measure.

Here's an additional slightly crazy root cause: the wall switch was semi-defective. It showed ~100 ohm resistance when turned on. Result: intermittent sparking, and when it did light up, would go out soon thereafter. An 85 cent replacement switch does the job. :)

Only thing i see missing is how to properly check the millivolts for the flame sensor. I think im having an issue with the flame sensor or gas valve. Now i know how to check valve im good just wanna know about flame sensor testing
@wolfsteeltechnical
@wolfsteeltechnical 8 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback @MrMcurtis08. There are special tools used in the lab to test microamps of the flame sensor to determine correct operation. In the field, test the other aspects of the system, such as the flow of gas, correct operation of the valve, and flow of power. If all are operating within the correct values, and the issue still occurs, replace the flame sensor.

What is the height of the base the fireplace is on?
@wolfsteeltechnical
@wolfsteeltechnical 10 ай бұрын
Hey @thompsonb519, The measurement to focus on in every installation is the distance from the base of the appliance to the ceiling. This will directly effect how high or low the appliance can be positioned. As long as this distance can be met, the Base height ( if a base is used) can be as high or low as you wish, depending on the installation method selected (Flush or recessed). Hope this helps!

Thanks fort sharing this video. Do you have any idea why Napoleon refers to the rear burner as infrared when clearly it is a tube burner? This has me really questioning whether or not to get this grill.
@wolfsteeltechnical
@wolfsteeltechnical Жыл бұрын
Hey Michael, The Infrared portion refers the the red glow of the rear burner housing when the burner is operating. This helps distribute the heat when using the rotisserie. Note - the rear burner should not be used when the warming rack is in place.
