Dear, I have been watching your KZbin videos for a long time. Your video content is good. But because of attractive thumbnail, SEO score, high rank tag, the video is not getting views. It seems that updating these works will be better and your business will increase. I can help you if you want.

5 seconds of crazy. It takes two seconds to realise and react to get the flag out, another second to it be visible and that assumes race drivers that ever see that flag where it was. If the flagger was at the apex but the organisers now seem to think advertising boarding is better there. THAT is the real issue. Blaming race control is nice if you assume they see what we see. They may or may not. People assume a lot from TV and it doesn't tell the whole story. Teams need to have a spotter in one. Instead they are on top of the X hotel and cant see that part of the track. 5 seconds and this is the chaos you can get in 5 seconds.

From a marshal, THANK YOU! Sometimes the light is a bit tricky to turn on especially if you are only working a 2 person station. That corner is so blind as well.

I was just looking at the onboards of Segal who came in well after... and yes.. you see the stick come out but that was way too late. To be clear before I go on, I am NOT blaming the specific marshals for this. If this is a response blaming the specific marshals then fair enough. This is about the whole procedure. However, what more do I want? The flag to go out immediately. Within a second of the car spinning. In modern racing, t-boning a stationary car is probably one of the most dangerous things that can happen on road and street tracks. Two marshals, one on the flag and one looking back down their sector to call for it. It was too late and there was a big crash and Pato was lucky his legs were ok.

One marshal on the flag and one marshal on light panel is standard procedure and exactly what occurred that day - the response was as immediate as humanly possible. Yes - Siegel’s onboard shows a flag coming out. But it’s easy to say it wasn’t quick enough when viewing that footage in isolation. Remember this incident occurred on a restart and the cars were close together. As was stated, the location of the flag station and light panel is a bigger issue than the timing it took for the yellow to come out - it was 1 second for the marshal response to begin once Pato spun, and a FCY was called 2.7 seconds after that. Even 1 second after, the other cars involved had already passed the station and light panel so unfortunately, the incident was unavoidable. If there was a mirror light panel position at the apex, then maybe we could argue it wasn’t timely enough but that simply is not the case. If you think you could do better, become a marshal.

@@taymooremusic I have zero hostility to marshals, in fact friends with quite a few of them. And I would appreciate you not making it about that. Not needed. What more do I want? Better design, coverage and procedures to reduce the time down to something where one driver doesn't full throttle t-bone someone because they didn't know they were there. Simply put, I think that's preventable. It should be prevented as best as possible.

Not to mention that cars don't come to immediate magical halt just because a yellow is thrown. Physics takes that away from us, we all know that even a double waved yellow is not enough for some divers to head warning. Put your drivers hat on and where are you looking entering a 90 right ? on the apex right not watching all the marshals around the track in case they put a yellow or red out in that moment.

It was great to hear your coverage about Indy Toronto!

Thanks for these explanations. I could not pick out all these details from the TV coverage, and I was looking for some REAL info about the response. Sounds like it was as good as it could be, given the flagging locations.

Perfectly stated by all of you, I hope that everybody who was complaining about the marshals and about race control see this video. That incident is just a part of racing, especially when you are going as fast as Indycars go.

Good odds on McLaughlin! He was a star at Texas and hardly ever raced an oval in his life, grew up on street and road courses. Best driver out of Australia for many years, I think he can leave a huge legacy from this year forward.

They might make a new rule against that move, but it was not against the rules in place for the race. They can't retroactively make it illegal.
