Yes, jute webbing can work in that application so long as the frame is strong enough. I usually use 1" thick hardwood. Thanks

How does the bevel tool work? I inherited my Dads tools. Although I have bought the last 4 myself. I have a line up off Dremel’s including the first one. I have two of the 4000. One, brand new still in the box was left in my car after it was stolen and I got it back two weeks later after finding the thieves sitting in my car. That’s not all that was in the car. I made out actually. Mine came with a hard light gray case. I wish the cases were twice the size. I need to use mine more. I have so many attachments! Thanks for the video. Heading to the workshop to see if I can check out what you just showed us!

I just went to two Home Depots and was very frustrated that they did not have the pattern-routing bit. That's what I need today to mortise in some pocket door inserts. GRRR. But it took less than a minute to find exactly what I was looking for on Amazon at a phenomenal price. Sheesh.

Do you have a suggestion for when the wheel won’t turn AT ALL?
@TheThoughtfulWoodworker
@TheThoughtfulWoodworker 3 күн бұрын
Yes I've had that happen a time or two. Oil it with sewing machine oil, especially the bearing and journals by the hand wheel. Let it sit overnight and force it to turn. They always break loose, it just takes time and oil. Of course make sure there's no thread stuck under the bobbin first!

I have the big 3.25hp Triton. I really like it. The power switch cover gets a little fiddley. It does auto lock on the collet shaft when raised to do bit changes. It only requires a single wrench to change bits. It also comes with a nice height adjusting handle with a spinning handle that is great. Highly recommend this router in a table.

Thanks for the recommendation. I had the Triton 2.25hp thinking it would be great in a table. I quickly sold it. Just too gimmicky with the power switch safety device. I still prefer my old Freud FT 1700 which also has auto collet lock and above the table features. Sadly it's no longer made. Thanks for weighing in.

How does the Milwaukee m18 FR12 compare to the Dewalt DW618? I'm on the Milwaukee platform already however, it seems a big investment and think corded is likely to last forever but battery tech could change and batteries burn out etc. Also think I may be better getting just a 1/2 inch plunge and a 1/4 inch trim/compact rather than a kit. What would your recommendation be? I'm more in the market for the best router for cutting mortises, dado's rabets for joinery so. Don't mind investing for longevity but do like a bit more bang for my buck!

Of course that moving from straight edge to the round edge (and vice-versa) will cause an error in the cut that is being routed. But what if when using a flat base router you be careful enough to touch the fence only with the round part of the base edge? Will it still deviate from the path if you rotate it or the round edge is a perfect circle and no error will be produced? 🤔

Love these reviews! -- QUESTION -- My last issue is Zig Zag stiches.. I notice that most of these industrial machines do straight stitch only. The Sailrite does zig zag for sails I guess.. But it is unclear to me whether zig zag is a stronger or better stitch. Some articles say it is not. Any thoughts on that Is there any downside to the zig zag? Can you get modify this Juki or the Cansew 206RB to do a zig zag?
@TheThoughtfulWoodworker
@TheThoughtfulWoodworker 15 күн бұрын
Good Questions! I don't feel that a zig zag stitch is stronger or better in leather and upholstery material, although it might help with canvas. It can be used as a cheap alternative to a serger when working with material prone to fraying, but there are better overlock stitches on most modern machines. You can't modify a 206 to do zigzag stitch. I really doubt you'll ever miss a zigzag stitch if your machine doesn't have it. Thanks

@Coleen-Love 15 күн бұрын
@@TheThoughtfulWoodworker ...really good answer.. We are honing in on the Juki 563 in excellent condition and will get the servo motor and try to configure like you did. We may go sailing and have some impression that we may repair our sails with it -- Sail makers use zig zag, although I read somewhere that a quality single stich is as good or better, and that two lines of single stitch would certainly be better. Just wish I knew the best answer to that but there are no good sources. You mentioned your servo is 500watts and I see online some are 750 watts etc., Assuming they all plug into the normal power socket in our house, how would you tell the difference between "just" 500 watts vs 750 or 1000 watts?

@TheThoughtfulWoodworker 15 күн бұрын
@@Coleen-Love You'll be fine with a 550w servo like this... amzn.to/3X6Rd3F I think they're easier to control than a digital servo, and have enough power for just about anything. If you plan to add a speed reducer, it will have gobs of power! Mine could sew through plywood.

Warn needle bar bushings. It happens with older machines as they wear out. Or it could simply be a skipped stitch. If it's just a skipped stitch, check thread path, quality of winding on bobbin, upper tension check spring, hook timing and hook spacing.
