Hey quick question- Do you notice in your viewfinder live view that the white balance is fairly off from what the image shows on the back screen? Having shot Fuji and Canon for the past few years it seems this Sony A7cII doesn't have the best live view representation. Im wondering if thats just me? Thanks for any input. Love your content, keep up the solid work, man!

Nice video - very well done and contemplative. My father gave me an X-570 back in the 1990's (he passed in 1993) and I just got it out of my attic today and I will absolutely shoot some film using it. I came back to this camera the long way. My mother had a massive stroke last August and when I visited her in the rehab facility I also brought along her fathers (my grand fathers) photo albums. The photos were all shot with a pre-war Leica and many of them are spectacular. My mother loved the pictures and although she could barely speak I could tell they bought her some peace. I thought to myself that it would be great if I could somehow replicate the experience my grandfather had taking pictures of my mom when she was little with a Leica 1. My mom passed away in December and after that I was scanning through e-bay and came across a black paint Leica 1C that was made in 1930, the same year my mom was born. I bought it and had it CLA'd (Cleaned, Lubed, and adjusted). I was amazed at the clarity and character the pre-war camera and lens were able to produce. Now that I have my fathers X-570 in my hands I will aim to do the same - when I turned the camera on the display lit up and I heard that distinctive beep - these are the same batteries that were in the camera when my dad gave it to me 30+ years ago.
@xhynetuseinovski29 күн бұрын
wow man that’s very touching. thank you for sharing that. it’s been a while since i made this video and i’ve been through a few cameras since then and sad to say my x570 advance level has an issue so ive basically retired it but i plan to get some other film camera soon. film is just irreplaceable.
@steveborghardt29 күн бұрын
@xhynetuseinovski Consider a Barnak Leica - they're completely manual and mechanical. Yes they're old but once you get them CLA'd (cleaned, lubricated, adjusted) they will likely be good for the rest of your life. There are a few folks in the US that do a great job with this. I picked up a 1930 Leica 1C after my mom passed and it's an amazing camera. Later versions like the Leica IIIf made in the 50's combine the focus window and viewfinder. I have a 1952 version of the IIIf - that's the camera that gives me the most joy to shoot. It's also the cheapest way to own a Leica. Good luck in your journey.

An honest surprise to see a good set of examples like these. Full range and no excessive vignettes or masks. Giving Eggleston vibes from some of the photos, but with less contrast because of the Cinebloom. Really helpful to see these kinds of sets and hope you do even more street portraiture (more eye contact and front-facing), your composition is solid and I think that'll push the strength of the photos even more.

I have just been using sugar and flavored syrups.

A lot of blurry photos... is it intentional? If not then you should figure out a suitable shutter speed for walking and shooting at the same time, and even then the IBIS might mess with it a bit if it jumps
@xhynetuseinovskiАй бұрын
Yeah reason being my settings were off. My minimum shutter speed wasn’t fast enough for run and gun street shooting.
