Japan engine, Japan gear box Japan carburetor, Japan radiator, Japan axles, All zen automatic cars prior to year 2000 (only carburetor model, not MPFI) have high quality original Suzuki engine and imported 'Made in Japan' Suzuki automatic gearbox. This same Japanese automatic gearbox was introduced in Maruti 800 in 1990 (2 speed gearbox). Modified version (4 speed) (Indian made) of this gearbox is used in A-star, Vitara Brezza, earlier model of Swift, Dzire, XL-6, Ertiga and S-cross.The petrol-powered Brezza and Toyota Urban cruiser share the same 4-speed torque converter AT gear box. So this RELIABLE automatic gearbox has been in India for the last 31 yrs.There have been many reports of issues in the AMMT gearbox, requiring numerous software updates and even complete gearbox replacements even within 25,000km, You can also add "overheating" transmission / clutch burning to that list. Manufacturers have struggled with the long-term reliability of AMMTs. It is inherently an inferior technology for passenger cars. That's why I don't recommend AMMTs to anyone. I will always recommend a proper Automatic gear (Torque converter) because of its superior smoothness, performance, reliability & resale value. TORQUE CONVERTER automatic is 95 year old technology and the most reliable automatic gear technology. Latest generation automatic cars have AUTOMATIC GEARBOX with SOFTWARE CONTROLLED gear shifting which is very complicated and may be having high maintenance and very expensive to repair. Latest automatic cars have ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)Very expensive to replace ) and TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM cost high).If TCM is faulty, we cannot shift from Neutral to Drive. Driving with a faulty TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE can damage your auto transmission. Latest automatic gear systems are sensor based. Need to depress the brake pedal before shifting from P to D or from D to R. If BRAKE PEDAL SENSOR is damaged or fuse blown, we will not be able to shift from P to D. No BRAKE PEDAL SENSOR in this automatic zen. No ECM/ TCM in this carburetor model Zen automatic.Many latest automatic cars OVERHEAT in heavy traffic. During overheating the FUSE in auto gearbox is blown. Then the car automatically shifts to NEUTRAL and we cannot DRIVE. This automatic zen never had overheating. No FUSE in the automatic gear box of this zen. Have driven 250 km non-stop without any problems. Latest automatic cars have very complicated ELECTRONIC MOTHER BOARD inside the automatic gear box. This Zen Automatic car do NOT have any software or computer or ELECTRONIC MOTHER BOARD inside the automatic gearbox/ engine. No SCANNING needed. This automatic zen has a simple MECHANICAL automatic gearbox. Simple JAPAN engine (carburetor model-even roadside mechanic can repair it) and simple JAPANESE 3-speed MECHANICAL (no electronics) automatic gear box. Latest automatic cars have even 10-speed automatic gearbox. The more the number of gear ratio, the more complicated and more expensive to repair. This Made in Japan automatic gear box will last for about 3 lakh km in Indian driving conditions.and this Japan engine will last for about 4 lakh km. The less the weight of the car, the more the life of automatic gear box. This zen weighs just 750 kg. So the automatic gearbox has to pull less weight, so it will last long. Latest automatic cars have non-reusable automatic gear oil FILTER with washer. If washer is dislocated, autogear oil will enter the transmission without filtration and auto gearbox will get damaged. This zen has RE-USABLE flat METAL MESH type gear oil filter without washer. Zen carburetor engine model has more quality than zen mpfi engine model. Do not compare the used car rate of automatic zen with the rate of manual gear zen. FULL MECHANICAL/ ZERO ELECTRONICS CAR. The less electronics more the reliability.
