is there a reason you don't use the step sequencer for your drum patterns? great video, thank you!
@v4sounds15 күн бұрын
@@OneMoreMo i don't really have a based opinion on the sequencer (only used it a handful of times). as long as it gets the job done, i support whatever works best for you. i just used the ones in this video because they've always worked for me! thanks so much for watching and for the question.🙌

You don't need to use the Touch workaround, that's the slow way. Just go to the Menu, Mix and select 'Autoselect Automation Parameter in Read Mode'. Now all you have to do is click on the fader/button/knob you want to automate and that parameter will be visible in the Automation lane.

Question: do you make the beat then.. export as audio files to then finish the beat by mixing and mastering the beat at audio files?
@v4soundsАй бұрын
Exporting stems should come last in the beat-making process. Finish a beat, then export the stems and make them available to artists. If an artist purchases the beat and has stems, they can record and send the vocals + beat stems to the engineer who then has more control of the final mix. To your point though, exporting the stems and mixing back in the daw is good mixing practice. But that's usually where the engineer comes in anyways so its really not necessary.
@TheOfficialRay.SАй бұрын
@ appreciate it! I am just starting to make beats but for personal use not to sell at the moment, would it be the same concept?!
@v4soundsАй бұрын
that's great bro, i'm excited for you. You can always export individual stems from your beat and load them back into Logic to save computer space and avoid crashing. I wouldn't worry about exporting all the beat stems until they're needed for mixing or sending to artists/engineers. Appreciate you tuning in!🙌

why not just do the kicks and snares in alchemy as well? Whats the drawback
@v4sounds2 ай бұрын
You could do that, I just use ultrabeat/DMD to stack sounds within a singular instrument track (percs for example). It's easier for me to stay organized but you could use either. Alchemy is my go-to plugin for pitched sounds that I can play on my keyboard which I don't typically use or need for kicks and snares. But then again you can also pitch sounds using ultrabeat and DMD relatively easily. Really just about preference!

🔔SIDE NOTE: In most cases, the standard for bit depth is 24-bit ~~~ In the video, I mentioned having defaulted to 32-bit float for awhile but 24 tends to work in almost all software and is always a safe bet. You can check out this link to learn more about the differences: tinyurl.com/4zj8uerp

what is your microphone brand is? you turned on 32 bit float...
@v4sounds3 ай бұрын
@@zencist 32-bit is not much better than 24-bit so you could go either way. 32 takes up more space i believe though. i left a link in the description talking more about the differences if you're interested. and i have a RODE USB mic

@@zencist i'm not sure what gen tbh. and like i said 24 bit is the universal standard but i'd go with 32 bit if your daw allows it, but 24 is the safe route. appreciate the call out fam!
