How waterproof is the nylon? Will it stand up to sm bouts of partial submersion?
@macmorindustries
@macmorindustries 11 күн бұрын
Like with most things - it depends. Waterproof is really a spectrum of how water-resistant the fabric is. Some of the things to consider is how deep is a partial submersion for you, and for how long? Are you mostly working indoors or outdoors? Generally speaking, the high denier count on the nylon coupled with the polyurethane coating makes the Tingley Orion practically waterproof for most applications. Where this gets tricky is the deeper the water you're wading through, the higher the water pressure you're applying to the overshoes. The polyurethane coating helps a lot in this case, but itself is susceptible to cuts and abrasion, and can eventually break down under prolonged exposure to sunlight. We suggest cleaning with cold water and mild detergent, wiping off excess moisture on the surface, and storing them in a cool shaded area after each use to prolong the life of the overshoes.

With the pack out feet for cheap is the extra 5cfm (2.5%) suction increase is it worth it just for that? Older has been reliable but if the extra cfm is a big plus I’d spend the extra money
@macmorindustries
@macmorindustries 19 күн бұрын
Hi there - that's a fair question to ask. I think there are a few good reasons to consider upgrading to the 0970-20 unit, but if we're strictly comparing CFM and inches of suction and hinging the decision on that, I'd say it might be tough to justify the price difference (keep in mind the 0970-20 goes on promo every now and then). Personally, the two power modes, PACKOUT compatibility, and brushless motor are the big pluses, which alongside the improved suction really make the case for the 0970. Hope this helps!

What’s the temp rating? I work outside in alaska so always in snow.
@macmorindustries
@macmorindustries 3 ай бұрын
This can be a tricky question to answer as everyone experiences cold weather differently. Baffin has generally moved away from specific temperature rating on many of their products in favour of their "Real-World Tested" scale where they bring products into different environments and test them to see how they do. The Baffin Ice Monster are Northern Rated, which when you compare it to their other levels is roughly a 2/5 on their real-world testing scale. Considering how cold it can be in Alaska, and the consistent exposure to snow, I would say you'll likely want to look for a taller boot with a thicker liner that is either Arctic Rated (4/5 on the RWT scale) or Polar Rated (5/5 on the RWT scale). Here's a link to Baffin's website that offers some explanation on each rating, and you can drill into more from there: www.baffin.com/pages/community#shopify-section-page-community-ratings I'm not sure if you're in the market for plain-toed or steel-toed boots, but here's a list of Baffin polar-rated industrial boots that should keep you fairly comfortable in your work environment: www.baffin.com/collections/industrial-insulated?pf_t_cold_rating=POLAR+RATED. I really hope this helps. Good luck with your search!
@macmorindustries
@macmorindustries Ай бұрын
Baffin has generally moved away from specific temperature ratings because everyone experiences cold differently - what might be warm for you, may be inadequate for somebody else. Instead, Baffin uses what's called Real-World Tested (RWT) Cold Comfort Ratings. The Baffin Ice Monsters are Northern Rated, which they say most people would feel comfortable wearing between 10C to -10C. Given how cold and wet Alaska can be, you would probably want boots with higher RWT Ratings, such as Baffin's Tundra or even Arctic Rated Boots. The Baffin website's search functionality can narrow your search with those specific ratings to help you make your choice! I hope this answer helps, and good luck with your search!

Are these waterproof? Am working up in Northern bc where it's wet all the time ⏲️ are these boots goinketo keep my feet dry?
@macmorindustries
@macmorindustries 3 ай бұрын
Good question - it depends. The Baffin Ice Monster Winter Boots are waterproof up to a certain point. Because it's a lace-up boot, water can start seeping through the boots when water gets above your ankles. So long as you're not trudging through deep puddles in your line of work, the Ice Monster should work fine for you. Otherwise, if you'd like a completely waterproof pair of boots, we recommend checking out Baffin's Icebears! We've done a video about these a few years ago, but they remain one of our best selling boots: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3OUmn6fnNuYg9ksi=r9lFMk_Wt5U2F5NS

I have a really bad ankle from an injury. I was wonder if there is any flex on the ankle with this boot when walking on uneven terrain?
@macmorindustries
@macmorindustries 4 ай бұрын
Hi there, sorry to hear about your ankle injury 😓 The Baffin Ice Monster does offer some fairly strong ankle support, and there's the added benefit that they're a lace-up style boot so you can really fasten them as tight as you need to your foot which should help as well. All that being said, they are mostly made of leather which can soften and flex over time, so the overall fit and feel of the product will likely change as you wear them. If you're able to find a local retailer that carries them, we would recommend you try them on and see how they feel before investing. Hope this helps!

The hard hat does not have ventilation, I get pimples on my forehead because of sweat. How can I deal with this?
@macmorindustries
@macmorindustries 9 ай бұрын
Hey Tommy, Thanks for checking out the video and leaving a comment! You're correct that this hard hat does not have ventilation which grants it a CSA Type 1 Class E rating. MSA does make vented hard hats if you aren't needing any sort of electrical rating for the job. That said, another solution you could look into which might help is to get some sweat bands that wrap around the inside part of the suspension which goes against your forehead. We do recommend rinsing/washing/replacing your headbands on a regular basis to avoid further skin irritation.

Worth every penny! They are warm and very comfortable. They are not a hiking boot, but they would be fine if you had to walk a few miles if your car or ATV broke down. Buy them a bit big. Throw in athletic insoles and wear a decent pair of socks. For anything down to -10C, regular sports socks are fine. Don't buy boots with liners. Spend the money and get these.

How warm would you say these are? Like enough for working outside in winter?
@macmorindustries
@macmorindustries Жыл бұрын
That's a great question with a bit of a complex answer. Since these are overshoes, the overall warmth you can experience with them will depend on the footwear you pair them with. With insulated work boots and thicker socks, you should feel comfortable in temperatures below -15 Celsius. Which leads us to the next complex answer regarding whether these are warm enough to wear while working outside in the winter - this largely depends on how cold it gets in the winter where you live. Are we talking -10 to -15 Celsius, or closer to -30 to -40 Celsius? These covers are primarily designed to shield your footwear from winter elements with its nylon and PU coated outer shell and its Polypropylene foam lining. They're also helpful to allow you to walk in deeper snow than what standard boots or shoes would allow you to do comfortably (14" high with additional 6" gaiter for some significant coverage). If you happen to live in Canada near one of our stores, we're currently offering a special deal on these during our Black Friday event until the end of this week. You can check out our website for details. Hope this helps!

@macmorindustries
@macmorindustries Жыл бұрын
Hi @karennaramore9578, I'm not sure if these are available at retailers like Home Depot or Lowe's. With that said, MSA has a distributor lookup tool on their website where you can enter your location and it'll help you find the local MSA sellers for PPE near you: ca.msasafety.com/where-to-buy/ppe The link I provided is for Canada (our market region), but they have this feature in other regions as well - you can start by clicking on the flag in the top right corner of the page and click switch region, select your applicable market region and wait for the site to refresh, then scroll to the bottom and there should be a "find a distributor" link of some sort. Hope this helps!

Hi Boris, Love the passion you have for this other product! Respectfully, our channel covers products that are intended for the Canadian market (which in many cases can be applicable in the US as well). Unfortunately, we couldn't find much information on the Libus hard hat you mention, and from what we were able to find, it doesn't look like the hat meets CSA requirements which means it wouldn't pass Canadian standards for Workplace Health & Safety. All that aside, the MSA V-Gard is a great hard hat that we’re happy to stock on our shelves.

Nice Working. Please suggest me the ANSI-Puncture Level-5 Fabric in case of Hypodermic Needle.
@macmorindustries
@macmorindustries Жыл бұрын
Hi Real and Reality, there are various manufacturers that will claim to have ANSI level 5 puncture resistant gloves but in the case of hypodermic needle resistance or needlestick testing (ASTM F2878), you definitely want to read through the specs and make sure you're seeing the rating you need. Upon closer examination, you might find that certain ANSI level 5 puncture gloves are only rated for level 1 when it comes to hypodermic needles. As far as suggestions go, Superior Glove has the TenActiv STAGLXPB and the Clutch Gear MXHV2PB (the second style number being different than the Clutch Gear product we featured in this video), you can browse these on their website if you'd like: www.superiorglove.com/products/puncture-hypodermic/. Outside of the manufacturers we typically work with, I believe Hexarmor and MCR safety also make some products with good hypodermic needle protection that you could look into. Hope this helps!

Damn a car battery! 🤣🤣 I've been thinking about getting these. The ones they give us at work are so bad. I've been wondering is it okay to have employees with regular prescription glasses on the job site. I mean we work around nail guns. That's dangerous. Just wondering. Good video.

Thanks for the feedback - glad you liked the video! The nice thing about the Hypershocks is that they're a great spec that doesn't break the bank, so we feel the value for the price is definitely worth a try. RE: your question... usually, workers who wear prescription glasses on the job will either need OTG (over the glass) protective eyewear or will get sideshields that they can attach to their prescription glasses for additional protection. At the end of the day, it's up to the employer to do a risk assessment and mandate the safety equipment accordingly. Employers also need to evaluate the employee feedback they get about products - if lots of feedback is received about PPE being uncomfortable or not ideal for the work at hand, it's in their best interest to work with their supplier to find a more suitable product. Otherwise, employees will likely stop wearing the gear which greatly increases the risk of injuries.
