Don't forget that your shellac will get even MORE orange. They do sell clear shellac and you needed more like 20 drops of tint. It is to orange for me. Good job.

Sweet child o mine the gunners. Man I hate flat head screws in old furniture, what are your thoughts? I always struggle with them, any tips appreciated. I love that you took this old ailing piece and gave it another 20 years or so it just warms my heart.
