I probably would not have heard this without the Otis interview. Happy to have found. Off to listen to the rest of the album.

Thanks Otis. Loved your interview with Ray. He talked about many old friends of mine. Back in the 80's my buddy Rich Minus introduced me to Doug Sahm in the alley outside the Austin Outhouse. Doobie time. Many fine nights there. Love your shows. Thanks.

Enjoyed your engagingly word guided journey through a few of the mountain tops & valleys of your storied career vis-'a-vis Otis Gibbs. I thank him mightily for directing me here. Nuff respect for swingnskank vibes. Were studio lights up or down?

Ya mon! Wow, this completely caught me off guard and I love it! Western Swing, Reggae and Ska are my favorite music genres by far. Ray, you made a bold creative decision to do this and it’s very admirable. I can’t wait for the full release of the album. I’m gonna miss your call outs for solos and “Awww fiddles!” but I haven’t heard the rest of the tunes yet. Maybe there’s some surprises in store for us like fiddles in a Reggae tune. I sure hope so.

A soul grows young While the body grows old, Til the mind grows tired Of doing as it's told. The years fly by... We're surrendered to age. But we're like a wild bird That has chosen the cage. It ain't you. It ain't you. But it's the only ride you got To get you through. Keep on trying to remember The reflection in the mirror. But, it ain't you. No, it ain't you. The freedom of youth Is wasted on the young. And just when you learn the game, You're too tired for the fun. And we live with the number That goes with our name. And you wake up to the changes, But deep inside you're still the same It ain't you. It ain't you. It's the only ride you got To get you through. Keep on trying to remember The reflection in the mirror. It ain't you. It ain't you. It ain't you. No, it ain't you.
