Hi. I suggest you do a dna test to your bird(send some feathers to the lab) to know if it is a male or a female. You can pair any Agapornis roseicollis with him. It will depend of what mutations do you want to get. If you want to get blues, I suggest you pair it with a blue without any dark factor or violet.

WOW those are gorgeous pairs!! I have 2 blue clear tail females, and I am having a hard time learning the best mutations to pair them up with. Can I ask who or where you learned about mutation? I’m trying to find help before the breeding season starts! 😬 I have access to (not clear tail) blue violet, blue pied, an albino males.

Thanks! I suggest that you first learn about mendel law, after that then you can move to the specie nomenclature. Cleartail is a recessive mutation so to get visuals you always need pure X split or split X split. I suggest you pair them with blue violet, you will then get blue violets split Cleartail than you can use in the future to achieve blue violet cleartail . Do not mix ino mutations simply because the ino mutations will hide almost all mutations.
