I have a flow meter I believe is reading inaccurate because the actual flow has dropped dramatically compared to the past. The meter is ranged for the previous case. Is reranging to a lower range going to improve accuracy? and why. Thank you

Yes for sure. usually in an orifice plate flow meter application and when the accuracy of measurement is required, we installe two dp transmitters first one for the normal operation and the second one is uesd when the flow dropped dramatically. could you please provied me with more details about the exsisting DP flow meter, the flow rate , the accuracey etc...

5000 mmh2o ( the water filled in the pipe) + 1000 mmh2o ( the water already available in the tank) = 60000 mmh2o of water height (wc), so we set this value in mode 7 to exclude it. Then we set 0 mmh2o in mode 5 ( strat of scale) and 4000 mmh2o in mode 6 ( full of scale), the tank height. Hope you find it clear now.

It's a differential pressure transmitter, high pressure side connected to the bottom of tank. and low pressure side connected to the top ( atmospheric pressure), as this type of tanks is an open tank. for more details you may reviw the follwoing videos for an open tank and closed tanbk level masurments.

Very clear explanation. According to the conventional training programmes it's saying that the HP side of the DP transmitter is connected to Drum (Water) side and steam side connected to LP side of the DP transmitter. In this explanation, in Wet leg method HP side going to negative pressure. In actual mounting on our boiler HP side of the DP transmitter is connected to steam side (Top) of the boiler with condenser pot and LP side of the DP transmitter is connected to Drum (Water) (Bottom) side. This is true as per your explanation. Thank you very much 🙏

Thank you for your good question. Practically let's say yes! but you need to change the parameters of calibration, and for sure you need to get back and check the manufacturer. Coriolis flowmeters can measure virtually all fluids and gases, as it used for single phase flow measurement. if you would like to use same flowmeter to measure liquid and gas, we call it two or multiple phases flow metering. When multiple phases are present, some of the basic assumptions made in Coriolis measurement break down. Primarily, the fluid no longer vibrates in sync with the flow tubes resulting in measurement errors.

By turning clockwise the air rate is reduced up to shutting off. To set the restrictors it is advisable to close them and then open them slowly (see initialization RUN3).

H2 is the distance from the transmitter to the lower point of the tank, as the tranmitter is installed under the tank (500mm), so when the tank is empty we still have the pressure effect of the liquid inside the pipe (impulse line). How LRV is arrived at - 20 and from where %DO has come in the formula.. Where as in DP formula there is no %DO.. Please explain..
