I would love to see a video covering enantioselectivity in radical chemistry? Particularly cyclization reactions…thank you for all you do ❤

The lecture is based on the books: 1. The Organometallic Chemistry of the Transition Metals by Robert H. Crabtree, Sixth edition, 2014 by John Wiley & Sons; 2. Transition Metals in the Synthesis of Complex Organic Molecules by Louis S. Hegedus and Bjorn C. G. Soderberg, Third edition, 2009 by University Science Books.

Hey Thanks for the Video :) Did you forget to draw a Co-Co bond in the left cluster on slide 8? Without that i get only 17e for the left one....

Thank you for your comment. You are right, the complex on the left in the slide 8 is 17e and that is correct as the equilibrium shows that it can turn into an 18e complex by forming a M-M bond. After formation of Co-Co bond the CO ligands can either stay bridging or not, that is not going to affect the electron count.

Good explanation 👍 Para C-H activation of arenes is a hot topic in this area. Jin Quan Yu lab in Scripps research designs various Pd ligand to reach this goal.
