I had one and, in our neighborhood, playing "War" was a serious business. We went through different periods...Frontier, Civil War, World War Two...yeah, the Johnny Reb cannon was a really fun toy.

Great old commercials. But the only revolving rifle was built in 1856 by Colt. It was call the 1856 Colt Root Revolving Rifle, in .56 caliber. It was a pretty good weapon.

This Cubby Bear cartoon was created and produced by Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising for the Van Beuren Studio months after they left Warner Bros. and Leon Schlesinger over pay issues. In fact, if you look closely at the animation, some of that was recycled from the first Merrie Melodies cartoon, Lady, Play Your Mandolin(1931). Thanks for understanding!

I love TV shows back when I was a kid in the 50s and I have vague memories of this one - but…….a commercial for a new color lipstick and nail polish on black & white TV! And then Hal March - bad jokes and a smarmy look! Wasn’t this the show with the “big problem”? Cheating???

Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce made a superb team. This film, “The Scarlet Claw,” was one of the best - if not THE best - of their series. Absolutely a classic! The director, Roy William Neill, was a master of low-budget filmmaking.

This morning, I just finished watching the Warner Bros. TV Western, "Colt .45"! Watching this Mattel Toys commercial for the Shootin' shell Fanner 50 two gun rig, really hit several childhood spots! Thanks for the great bit of childhood nostalgia! Hope to see a lot more of these commercial gems!

I don't know why conservatives think that liberals don't own guns. I own several. Got one army 44 revolver. Got a shotgun from the Vietnam era. My grandfather's rifle. Plus several other guns. Got a bunch of swords and a few axes. I enjoy making weapons. I don't know why people think that people like myself don't own weapons. I live in an area that is surrounded by 300 acres of forest. I've seen bears, I walked out on one. I've seen other kinds of animals and I wouldn't feel safe here without a gun.
