I loved these toys. However, unlike LEGO or Tonka Toys, the manufacturers didn’t understand that they were making plastic building toys, meant to be used and reused. As a result, few of mine survived intact. The figures were similar in design to GIJOE, so “O” ring failure was likely, too.

I'm actually eternally envious that my father (81) got to see JFK speak in person when he was still campaigning. Didn't get to meet him, but he still has the camera he held when attending.

Better teeth? Not really. Iron ruins your teeth. I drank that stuff in the 60s. Just chocolate and sugar. They fooled my parents.

This construction is substandard, particularly the lack of overhang on the end. It's too bad, because it's not a deficiency in the construction labor, but in design.

Paar was a man of many, many self-defeating quirks, but it can't be denied that while he wasn't a comedian per se, he was an excellent monologist who essentially set the standard for what we now recognize as the talk show: a host, a monolog, a band, and guests. And it's worth a mention that Paar was succeeded on this show by a young Johnny Carson, who'd follow Paar later on "The Tonight Show".
