3yr old video but man was it super simple following your instructions. Only difference is on the 3r tent the wires are all on the opposite of the tent at least the us versions. For anyone wondering. The factory wires brown are positive and blue is negative. Took maybe 30 minutes to install and another hour for the glue on the wires to dry. Thank you for the easy to follow video

Great car , gotta laugh how most people say things like you said about kings gear , “I’ve had the winch for a year and it’s been bullet proof , but you don’t like to say that kings gear” , don’t understand why people do this , if it’s bullet proof it’s good .

question, when you have rods in the rod holder on the bull bar how do you keep the rods from flying out or someone taking them if you're parked up somewhere, I've been meaning to get one but its got me f*cked how they stay there
@lifeinalux2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t had an issue with them flying out, and we did all of Fraser with them in, but you can put an occy strap over the reels to keep them in place. But if we pull up for a few hours away from the car I usually leave them in the canopy.

I am really enjoying this journey. A few good places to check out as you go further North are Cow bay, Roaring Megs falls and the lion's den pub. The Bloomfield Track is good too. The Creb track is great but not something to take on solo. Keep up the good work.

You should be fine just make sure you fold it flat everytime and we split our pillows apart so it fits in between, FYI we left ours open and crushed the gears inside so it doesn’t lock in position anymore and we no hold it in place with elastic.

Anything you wanna know on the brakes/12v set up?
@ppvtv25342 жыл бұрын
@@lifeinalux Very interested in how you managed to get bigger brakes on there, like what mods you had to do to fit them and things like that. With 12v setup, interested in that lithium and how everything is neatly wired up
@lifeinalux2 жыл бұрын
As for the brakes, they are 120 series Prado Calipers, Discs, and pads new from sparesbox. You need to find the dust guards from a wreckers. I reused the hilux brake lines, and the calipers used the exact same mounting bolts as the hilux calipers. And you must have 17” Rims to clear them. It’s all pretty straight forward once you acquire the parts. As for the electrical, there is quite abit involved, the lithium is a 100AH DCS Battery, charged directly off the alternator with a Victron Argofet Alternator Splitter (this is required as it stops any backfeeding into the starter battery, if you looked it up on the Victron website it goes into more detail. It basically allows me to charge at 40-60a, however if I put in the 130a alternator, theoretically is should be able to get 100a+ of charge into the battery at a time, meaning a fully charged battery in under an hour. The front wall of the canopy is 9mm ply screwed to the vertical support leaving a 40mm cavity, which I ran catenary wires across between the support, and prewired all the cabling, then pulled it through the board as I installed it, there is a hatch behind the fridge which I have used to access behind it and wire some of the later mods! Hope this was what you were after, cheers!
