Been looking at the way you installed this printer and watched you doing test prints which was very informative. However you never demonstrated the fact you need to shake the toner before putting it in the printer before doing those test prints. Maybe the result would have been better on the printout as this is recommended anyway before operating the printer. Your thoughts?
@Trevs-Shed2 күн бұрын
Hi Yes, if I had read that and shaken the toner the results may well have been better.

If you read the info about rotary, at lightburns site, it clearly states that the steps pr. rotation is NOT the item, but one rotation of the roller. I got it fixed at 16000. Also one needs to set the engraving layer to output shapes individually. I also found that a larger splitsize gave me a more smooth engraving, though that ofc depends of the layout you are engraving.

Hey Trevor, I’m based in the States and trying to repair my wife’s GHD Gold flat iron. The thermal fuse is blown for one of the ceramic plates. Is it as easy as swapping in a new ceramic plate assembly? A repair shop in the UK said the resistance of the new fuse may be a tad different and if so, you need to program the circuit board to adjust. They say only they can do that. Seems more like a sales tactic as I see lots of videos of people like yourself doing repairs of the thermal fuses. Any advice?
@Trevs-Shed25 күн бұрын
@michaelgm88 Oh its not a sales tactic. And that's not what I said. You've seen lots of videos of older GHDs being repaired. Not the new irons.

Morning Trev. I have rheumatoid arthritis. I had my first total knee replacement 2019. I swore never again. Roll on a year my other knee became painful and deteriorated quickly. Eventually had total knee replacement again in August 2023. The 2nd didn’t go as well as the first but that’s another long story. Like you I had to find a way to work post surgery. All I can say is take it slow, take regular breaks and if a customer has to wait an extra day or 2 then tough. Post surgery exercises are absolutely key to a quicker recovery. I’m pleased to say I have good range of movement in both knees, I can kneel although it feels weird as during surgery some nerves are cut resulting in permanent numbness in parts of the knee. Post surgery pain is not pleasant and in my case, off the charts. But after a week or so becomes manageable. Make no mistake, knee replacement surgery is a serious operation but in a few months time you’ll be glad you went through it. Good luck and I hope everything goes smoothly.

Caution with the tramadol, also highly addictive, and also builds up tolerance fast. But hospitals love it because it makes the patients sleep, and not be awake much. But best luck with that, you are getting a lot of pre op info, which will help you a lot. Yes can agree with you on that pain from the needles, especially when the surgeon does an oopsie and puts it through the nerve he is going in to block. look on the bright side, now you get a nice blue tag set for your car, and get to use those big bays at the supermarket, plus order yourself a rollator, and a walker, to help with those first 2 or so weeks of getting around to brace the knee. Crutches are not really much of a help other than in tight places.

Hiya, I have these exact straighteners and i have googled an issue with them. I believe that the thermal fuse has blown. Do you think it would be possible to replace the fuse myself? I'm gutted because my straighteners are only a year passed the warranty so unfortunately having yhem replaced by GHD isn't an option 😩 Thank you xx
@ellacabella1984Ай бұрын
Okay, something very strange has just happened! When I tried to turn my straighteners on this morning there was one beep and the power light was a red ring. They wouldn't power on. So by googling it I thought the thermal fuse had blown. But I've just tried again and they are working fine 😕 I turned them on and the ring was white and they started to heat up. I let them sit for a few minutes to see if the red ring came back but they're working fine. I'm so puzzled. Do you know why they might do this? Thank you xx

The crazy thing is my straighteners have weirdly started working again 😕 I'm happy don't get me wrong, because I was getting ready to take my son for his birthday meal. But I find it really odd because it seemed like they were broken because of the thermal fuse blowing. They weren't switching on and had a red circle that is usually white. But now they are switching on and working as normal. Do you know anything about this or why this might happen? Thank you

I purchased a Pantum printer. It was claimed to have a three-year warranty when I purchased it. However, a problem occurred in the first month after use. The sole agent confirmed that this was a factory-origin problem and claimed that the manufacturer was studying how to correct the problem. Then, they requested I purchased another model as a trade in and rejected to responsible for any repairs or compensation. Therefore, if you are considering purchasing this brand of printer, please confirm whether you can accept no follow up or maintenance service.

Hi, thanks for uploading this very helpful video. I’ve just recently purchased Mr Carve M1 Pro. I’ve been trying to set up the chuck/rotary extension on LightBurn and have encountered a few issues. While the rotary seems to move during test, it doesn’t appear to move when I start the actual job. I would be most grateful if you could kindly offer guidance or assistance with this process. Thanks,
@Trevs-Shed2 ай бұрын
Hi Other than the test, I haven't had time to run a job on the rotary or roller. I assume you are using the Beta version of Lightburn, I guess certain things may not be working yet. I will try it as soon as possible, this weekend probably.

Yes, I believe I’m using the 1.712 pre-release. That sounds great, thank you. I’m looking forward to seeing it. Also, do I need to adjust anything else other than adding the confiq file in LightBurn, as you mentioned in your previous video about adjusting it for the BSLsimpleapp? I found two config files in simpleapp folder one as BSL and the other one starting with Lloc I believe. Which one do I use?
@Trevs-Shed2 ай бұрын
@@WaqasZahoor-r7e Spent the afternoon filming for youtube walked in to the house and now can't find the SD card that was in my pocket. I give up... Lightburn will control the rotary roller, I didn't get time to try the chuck. Look at the settings, particularly the roller diameter and steps per revolution. Match the motor settings to BSLappsimple where possible.

As explained at 9:53 - for cover removal the key is to pop the hinge end off first. I was able to use a iFixIt Jimmy to start from pad end and work down the side not with the intenion of opening the clips but making a gap down the side to reach the hinge. Once I wedged the metal and twisted to 'pop' the narrow (hinge) end, the rest of the clips gave up easy as I worked back up (don't even attempt the wide end clips - they unlatch automatically one the sides are unclipped). Thanks for the video 👍

Thank you very much for the video - very informative. Can I offer some constructive (and I hope non-passive aggressive) feedback? Slow down and apply less force, when disassembling an assembly such as this. You mention that both the push-fit connectors are unreliable and that the heater clips are difficult to replace and unreliable. As I see it, there is a significant amount of damage being done in your removal technique, which is to blame for the aforementioned difficulties. For example, when removing the heater plate clips, spend more time aligning your tool (i.e. flat head screwdriver) into exactly the right position before levering, instead of having 'a bunch of goes at it'. Again - I hope this comes across as a friendly engineer advising a fellow engineer, and not pas-ag trolling! :)
