Lot of nothing

I’m so confused on where to spot black, how do you determine the shape of the black, and how large the spotted black should be. I can’t seem to get any of this right and I ruin everything I try to ink.

Hey Jimmy, absolutely love your tutorials! I do have a question though. If I see a particular cover I like, but can't find the pencils for it, any tips on how to get the pencils? Or if there is a source of pencils from certain comic artists? I have reached out to a few artists, but never hear anything back.

I bought your pencil and and ink brushes. I had a little trouble figuring how to get the brushes into Clip studio paint, I'm new to the program, so that was on me. I figured it out. I'm going to play around with them this weekend. I also got the templates and your pencil drawings. I'm try to get re-inspired to draw again. I missed the live catching up now. Im starting to draw agian and i dont have a computer to do digital inking and ive never really tried with pens what would you recommend to start with

Is anyone else having trouble getting the 09 Dry Brush 3.sut tool to work? I tried updating my software, deleting and re-downloading. All the other brushes work great, it's just the 09 Dry Brush 3. Jimmy, thank you for the brushes and the great stream, love your work.

You said that particularly red skews when printing a csp project. In what way? Does it skew more orange or pinkish purple?

I had a question for you, Jimmy: I pencil and ink digitally in Clip Studio for Indie IP startups and one-shots. Since it's all me, I create at print-size (6.625x10.25), using a slightly antialiased pen. Is there any advantage or reason to draw at 11x17 if it's all-digital? Thanks!

Great video, I'm a novice trying to make a comic book for fun with my daughter. I will definitely get your brush set in the future. I know you're a busy man but it would be great if you did more of these types of videos. Where you show us the different types of technics you could use to tackle a project. I know with your skill and years of knowledge you could have so many different ways you can ink the same project. As a fellow latino, it's great to see your work. I'm happy for all your success. I noticed that you had anti-aliasing off for the ink brush, is that normal or would you normally have it on for smoother line work?

I've seen more and more that so-called "traditional" inkers are actually using markers, anyway, even though some of them disparage digital inkers like you and me. At least, before we went digital, we used "real" tools like brush and quill. Not that I'm comparing myself to you, of course, just highlighting how we both came up.

Just bought this pen display and this video popped on my feed lol After 5 years in my digital art journey I now started to prioritize pen performance over the quality of the screen and this model came in clutch. Yes, Pro Pen 2 is now old by tech age standards but its specs alone still beat any recent EMR pen tech offered by competitors who often brag about their whopping 16k levels of pressure when in reality a low IAF and max pressure range is what matters the most. TheSevenPens gets more in depth about the whole pen pressure feature in his blog. Colors for me don't matter much, AG film and etched glass introduce some dulling and sparkle, would rather invest on a dedicated monitor. Resolution on the other hand don't matter much too as my style consists on bigger shapes and simplification rather than details. It curious too see how different styles often end up demanding different hardware.

So is this a re release of the first issue? I heard you mention in one of your streams recently that the first campaign you weren't able to get the comic colored. I'm assuming this is the first one but with colors? Correct me if I'm wrong.

You should focus on coloring your books first.

Bought one. Returning it after 3 hrs use. No buttond on the side, and no touch function to make up for it. Ended up having to use my bluetooth keyboard, awkwardly placed on the side, getting more and more frustrated as time went by, realizing my fuckin 15yo BAMBOO is more useful than this overpriced piece of shit! Wtf is the point of this when you have have peripheral hardware anyway?? Then I looked up the version that does include touch function… for 1000 dollars more. I’m done.
