Isn’t the pfaff like $17,000.00 more than the Bernette ?
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum 8 күн бұрын
The Pfaff is a top of the line, and the Bernette is more of a entry-midlevel. Sometimes it's fun to see the comparison between two machines to see what's similar and what's different, though you're totally accurate!

I have a Pfaff 1222E that is 45 years old, the semi-industrial/home machine made from the 60’s to the 90’s. It is still a workhorse and I will never give it up but I am looking at getting the Jamome HD9 as my new machine. I like the fact it has the two threading paths and the M-size bobbin.

Is there any advice you have on the machine? Like what not to do on it?
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum 23 күн бұрын
One great tip of advice, which is valid on all machines, is to make sure you change your needle fairly often. We usually recommend about every 8 hours of sewing time. Needles get dull over time, plus the less you break needles, the better for the machine!

What tension should I have on my allegro for standard an quilting with 100% cotton material
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum 23 күн бұрын
For Free Motion Quilting, if you crank the tension up to 7 it will help keep it nice and even for you! For regular piecing or straight line quilting, keeping it at the default (usually around 4-5) will be just fine.

I’m confused on throat space. I believe you said 6.5 inches of space is okay but other places say at least 8.5 is needed. What is correct? Thanks
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum 27 күн бұрын
You can technically use this frame at 6.5", though it will have a very narrow quilting area. Most people prefer to have 8" or larger - when you put a machine on a frame like this, it's a good habit to consider it losing 2 inches of the throat space for the pole and quilt to be accommodated. Hope that helps!

That's a cool idea! For now, a lot of machines do have a Start/Stop Button on the machine. The Bernina 990 has that icon with two dots on the front, with a green light around it when you're safe to sew.

Hi, not being a jerk, but if you actually use the little thing that looks like a pen cap appendage, you don't have to fuss as much pulling the thread for the piercing needles. You don't have to try and get the loop and pull. Just insert in the loop, and drag it all the way until the tail is through the eye of the needle.

@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum Ай бұрын
Usually, on the Dual Feed Foot, you don't need to adjust tensions. Sometimes, your spool of thread can have a knick on it that the thread is getting caught on, so double check that if you haven't. Breaking that many needles is unusual, so we'd recommend giving us a call if you can! 1-888-897-6362. We'll be able to ask a few more questions to try and help if you do!

Embroidery software can give you that ability! If you're not sure which brand to get yet, also check out the Brother Artspira App - You have the ability to draw and send designs directly to the machine with that. There are also Brother and Baby Lock Machines that enable you to draw directly on the screen and create an embroidery design, such as the Brother Stellaire 2 or the Baby Lock Meridian 2.

Hi. I’ve been researching vacuums as my 28 year old Hoover (upright) finally gave up the ghost. My small condo has mostly hard floors (tile, hardwood) and carpet only in the bedroom. Should I get the upright or try the canister option? Thanks for your feedback. 😊
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum Ай бұрын
Looking for a vacuum that you can turn off the brushroller would be the ideal situation if you have mostly hard floors. Canister vacuums give you the ability to use a specific head for that purpose, where uprights some people find easier to move around. The Felix Premium line would be a great option that's easy to move, you can swap the power head to a hardwood floor head, or you can turn that roller off. The SEBO Airbelt E3 line is a great canister vacuum as well.
@edwardh8853
@edwardh8853 Ай бұрын
@ Your response is much appreciated. I like that the Felix has the option to turn the brush off or to swap the head out for bare floors. I also like service of the roller, bag, and filter are easily accessible. I’m going to check out the upright and canister SEBO options this weekend at my local retailer. Informative videos are so helpful when doing research.

@@edwardh8853 Just a bit of info from my perspective of the Sebo E3, which I currently have for 6 months. I have a small house, about 1100 sq ft, all LVP flooring with an 8 x 12 rug in one room and find the Sebo to be a PITA. It constantly gets hung up on furniture, corners, door jams etc. I am calling my dealer and asking if they do trade-ins so I can exchange/trade it for the Felix. The cannister itself rolls smoothly and functions flawlessly. The power head is awesome, but stopping to change it to do the rug is also a PITA. The hose is not 100% kink free, but much much better than most. An annoyance I have is with the slide switch right at your fingertips. It can easily / accidentally be moved. I also find it to be heavy but that may be that I'm an old weakling. LOL For me, a cannister does not fit my situation.

COuld you help me, I am looking at buying one for my wife but I do not understand the difference between two Brother Models. The Brother NS2850D Innov-ís Sewing & Embroidery Machine is twice the price of the Brother NS1850D Sewing and Embroidery Machine yet I only see that it does a slightly larger embroidery area but also has less Disney characters built in so I must be missing something major. Thanks for this video, super helpful!

what is different about this version vs the previous NS1750D?
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum Ай бұрын
Hello! The embroidery size is going to be the main difference most people notice first. A lot of new embroiderer's quickly get "hoop envy" and wish for a larger size once they get started! There also are many more sewing stitches and a wider space from the needle to the base of the machine on the NS2850D. We see a lot of people start with one of these machines, then work their way up! If you'd like to get more information, please feel free to give us a call and we can walk you through a few options. Our number is: 1-888-897-6362
@rockymountainsewingandvacuum

One of the biggest differences from the previous series is that these can connect to wifi, which makes them Artspira capable! You can create your own designs and send new ones seamlessly, without a USB stick, straight to the machine from your phone or computer.
