They will eat the eggs in the murky water still for real ?

I'm not discrediting you that at all. I floated the last two times on the carbon (yesterday) and they weren't hitting. Me and a couple others. Again I'm new to floating but I did try. I have eggs that I bought out of a jar that were cured and ready to go. I caught two silvers yesterday that had eggs so I'll do the best I can preparing those for steelhead.

Dude awesome snaging techniques .
@lucasglassman72233 ай бұрын
flossing or drifting isnt snagging and completely legal and almost necessary on our local Rainer silt rivers. its also a great technique for fishing under structure like fallen trees if fish are stacked up underneath it. ive thrown jigs bobbers with eggs just about everytime i go just to see if something will take and in the 10 plus years ive fished ive maybe had a few bites but have never landed a fish. any other river thats not full of silt in the WA area this is the last technique used because of how affective other ones are. they cannot even see in that river salmon arent even feeding when they are spawning in rivers like this. they bite eggs for more territorial reasons to begin with not even biting for feeding reasons. so get off your high horse cause snagging a fish is illegal and this guy is well within WA state regulations and if you talk to any fish and wildlife officer they will tell you this is the most affective way to fish this river and are they are fishing the rivers themselves this way. love to see some locals slamming some kings in my hometown rivers thats what its all about. keep it up brother hope you get some this season!
@kellylambert45273 ай бұрын
@@lucasglassman7223 sounds like if never cought a fish on eggs or jigs your not fishing right.And it sounds like if you need to floss or (snag ) your fish then maybe you need to stay home and pull your pud.
@teamqwest3 ай бұрын
I mean I agree and disagree. I think floating is a better method and guarantees a better and natural hookset since they are biting your bait. Not to mention less line left in the river. I haven't been taught properly how to float. I fished last year and tried but I wasn't very successful in keeping the eggs on. I didn't brine my own eggs only bought from a store. This year I intend to float. Hit up the Green. I'm not one to intentionally snag. It does happen and it's not planned. I've sturgeon fished and snagged them from bottom fishing on rare occasion. It happens but I'm trying to improve all the time. If you have any tips I'd be happy to hear. I don't get the braid as main then switch to copolymer leader with a blood knot. That's the stuff I need practice with.
@kellylambert45273 ай бұрын
@@teamqwest you don't need braided line 10lbs maximum is go main line.And 8lbs leader is good watch some videos on KZbin not the crap like them snagging fish but watch good education ones
@lucasglassman72233 ай бұрын
@@kellylambert4527 not on rivers like this. your not listening to what im explaining this is a silt river and if the fish cant see your eggs or your jigs they arent going to hit them. this is the go to method because of that and any other river people are floating eggs minus the puyallup and the carbon people are throwing jigs and floating eggs because they are far more affective. if those methods worked people would use them its simple as that

My friend we call that a zombie salmon, it's actually a spawned out salmon. When they live their life cycle of hatching leaving the creek river venturing to the ocean. They spend years in the ocean eating. Growing evading wildlife and others. They eventually come back to the rivers to spawn. Lay eggs or sperm on the eggs. After they did their thing by reproducing. They decay and die. Adding nutrients to the river.

@Xacute0010 ай бұрын
If your looking for a setup, use 2.5” tubes, use a jig but make sure it’s hook is short not to long so you can hide the hook well, or you can use the classic size 4 hook, and worm if you don’t got worms use shrimp, just makes sure you hide the hook, I rig my worm all the way up past the hook onto the line so it only shows worm/shrimp. That’s what I’ve always used and never failed to catch a fatty.
