Thank you for that . I used to visit Portland every year until 1985 . My boss and friend Harold Drew owned a hut near the old lighthouse. It was in the scrub area . His son Peter now's owns it . Last time I was there was about 1994 when I visited with my first wife and Harold had changed the hut and it looked fabulous. Wonder what it's like today as I've now moved miles away.

Love seeing Cooke with the deep snow. What time of year were those pictures taken? I usually wait until June to visit and the latest I'll go is October so I only see snow randomly, but I was thinking of going up in February this year to see everything covered in snow!

Hey, as we are from England, we always went to Cooke either in early May or late Sept early October. We always stayed in the Sida Butte lodge or over in Cody at the Big Bear motel. We’ve also stayed in Pahaska Tepee on three occasions !

One of these killed a rabbit and cached the parts in my barn 2 months ago in Central Oregon. Returned last night and found a couple bird carcasses. Cute nasty creatures that can clean out a hen house in no time flat.

I have been going to the Great Dorset steam fair with My Dad every year since 2007 because we like seeing the steam engines doing the work that they where built to do. I also know someone who takes his steam roller to the show.

Hi Martin, yes indeed it is. The Army still fire live rounds here and play war games every now and then. If visiting alway check times the coast path is open which from memory is generally during public holidays.

Dominick Petersen hi Dominick, we are from England and found and fell in love with Cooke City back in 2013. We went back and stayed at the Soda Butte Lodge on five occasions. The owners then were Randy and Rae Ann and the staff...far too many to mention but included, Nettie, Lorraine, Kenny, Ben etc, treated us like friends and we had a fantastic time. What a fabulous place it was to stay. Yep, great memories for us. We took a photo using our drone of Cooke City which I’d love to send you if I can find a way !

DesanShirl well I’m not allowed to share my number or anything and o don’t have social media but if you wanted to make a video displaying the bueatyful little town then I would totally watch it would be interesting to see and some of those names sound familiar my dad was talking about when he lived they’re for a long time and mentioned some of those names to me and how he would drive a snow machine to work every day to get there Because he worked There but for a while before my mother moved from tin with some friends after high school he told me about a bar that his mom owned and stuff like that but anyways it would be the only way that I know of without getting in trouble
@deshog9994 жыл бұрын
Ok Dominick, I’ll see what I can do....perhaps I can find a few more pics we have taken of Cooke and stitch them together and put on KZbin. If you subscribe to our channel you will be notified when we put videos on. Thanks for getting in touch.
@dominickpetersen60664 жыл бұрын
DesanShirl GREAT I’ve subscribed and have turned notifications I’ll be keeping an eye out for this potential video. I’ve seen that you said you were from England and I would like to ask if it is pretty over there, like if there’s any place there that had you attached to it like Cooke city Montana and what brought you here to the states if I may ask just wondering I’ve never met anyone from out of the country 😀
