I know the msg of the video is well meaning but i disagree a bit. Iv found the only way to get me to start improving myself was to compare myself to others who are better than me. Because you need a period of time whenever you start something new to set a standard to achieve. I think its also important to point out if you compare yourself to others it can also have the oposite effect of boosting your ego where it doesnt need to be. I had a common problem and i see so manny people compare themselves to people they see (mainly in real life, not on social media) and go "look im not as bad as them" which stops their drive to improve the person that they are because they settle for just slightly better than avarage. I think you shouldnt strive to take compariosons out of life but instead to just keep a healthy ballance because comparison is a very useful tool when it is needed.

I didn’t feel like going to the gym today. Its void of people, (also a bit stingy tbh 😖). Having an empty gym is fantastic when first starting out, but gym can also be a great place to socialize (and a great place to find like-minded fitness fanatics 🤪). Money constraints currently keep me from upgrading. This just serves as motivation to world harder - one day money wont be a problem. Feelings fluctuate. Values stick. The way your physique is going to look depends 90% on your diet and 10% how you exercise. I wasted 8 years thinking that if I just trained hard enough then I would look like a Greek god only to find that none of my measurements ever changed. Things only started changing for me when I focused more on what I ate. Within the last year I have gained so much muscle, my lifts are heavier and my abs, which I've never seen before, are starting to show. The most important advice I could give you is, DON'T TRY TO OUT WORK A BAD DIET.
@mariacutajar32852 ай бұрын
@@thecatwiththegat5187 thanks for your comment! Honestly I eat a balanced diet, keeping it to around 1 “”unhealthy”” snack per day. I have controlled my eating habits more (will make a video on that soon). Perhaps the issue is im not eating enough protein? Im aiming for 70 g per day, given I lift x3 times a week and the typical recommendation of 120g sounds like wayyy to much.
@thecatwiththegat51872 ай бұрын
@mariacutajar3285 that's pretty good! But prioritize protein. In my humble opinion, you need to have protein with everything you eat and should be the first thing eaten. I don't know where you're from, so I don't know if it's available for you, but look up Kevin's Chicken or Square Tables beef tips. They're packed with protein.
@mariacutajar32852 ай бұрын
@@thecatwiththegat5187 i do have protein with every meal - even as a vegetarian I still find ways to bring it into my diet. I may still not be eating enough - as I mentioned I actually lost some body fat. Thanks for sharing though! ❤️

@@thewombat2558 comparison is definitely the thief of joy. There are also definitely men who find muscular women attractive - it takes discipline to build such a physique. There are also those who don’t, and thinks it makes them look too muscular.

Don’t know how this channel got recommended but feeling this is very relatable as you transition from into mid 20’s. As the years pass from negative periods you do begin to forget how things used to be, taking time to smell the roses and recognise the progress you made can then drive you forwards as you realise no matter how good things get you can progress even more. Keep reflecting and progressing and take life as it comes👍
