I have not seen a KZbin video pertaining to retirement that has the following message: Before reaching retirement age, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and He will save you from your sins and He’ll give you the gift of eternal life in Heaven.

It's easy to criticize when you feel someone is rambling, but I do find a good nugget in their conversation - take time for some patient, thoughtful self-analysis. Any answers you get will be true.

I think was bothers me about this video is the shallowness of the content. It is as if people don’t think about these things and/or they can’t figure it out for themselves. No part of life is a straight line, including figuring out your life in retirement. If people support your business model and you tell them what they should be doing then you are robbing them of the very essence of what it means to live a full life. Finding your own purpose requires finding yourself. It is hard, complicated and often painful work. Finding these things out for yourself makes your meaning yours and not something you buy off the internet.

In the past year life has changed greatly for all of us. I retired from a career in law enforcement some years ago and thought things would go according to those plans they have you develop in the pre-retirement seminars. The problem with those is that they did not factor in pandemics, economic collapses, a broken democracy, the extolling of corrupt politicians, nor the rise in, and acceptance of, hate in all of its forms. I found myself trying to redefine myself and what I do over the past few weeks. I'm too old for a paper route and too young to sit on the porch and absently wave at cars going by. Volunteering in the schools as a tutor has stopped. The uncertainty of sudden quarantines, self isolations, and possible lockdowns makes it hard to plan for a tenable future. I write all of this by way of expressing my appreciation (and luck) in finding your channel. I have watched this video and a couple of others and the ideas you present resonate with me. Soooo, thank you for your efforts and insights.

Would it be fair to say, learn to understand how your skills are transferable because you are not defined by your job title?
