My why: I always had a push to trying to understand others and help people feel things that makes them understand they are not alone in the world, I wrote poetry, I had a blog etc, one day I got an audition by luck, everything happened by luck even me being able to go at Lunch since I worked in one of the worst places traffic wise of my country, the audition was crossing the street, after I finished the movie, I was in love with creating a character and real feelings and obsessed over doing it right, over learning how to and help others feel what I feel when I watch a movie that makes me identify in some way and feel comprehended, so I left my job and came to Mexico to study, when I got here Covid started and I’m still here , still studying every day and trying to find a way to go to ny to study as well

At 41, recently I decided to become an actor and stuntman. I am portuguese and I will have to move to London. Just the process to be a member of the British stunt register at my age is gonna be tough! I want to be a part of the movie and tv business and to express myself. I feel I have unfullfiled potential and I dont want to waste it.

The why changes everyday. I don't really like to chat and I don't like crowds or having my picture taken. Today the why is because I want to play Sher Khan and I'm not actually a tiger.

Thank you so much for this. I am only 13, but would like to start my career in the acting industry as early as possible. But my parents ain't very fond of the idea, this definitely helped me to find the "why" so that I can help explain exactly why this is so important to me.

What a magnificent video, the actor itself is showing how the reacting works while he explains. And this is the whole secret about a good acting, being present and attuned to the moment and the other. I can’t believe it has just a few views and subscribers.

Hello Ru, Great video and tips. Especially the bonus tip- Developing a thick skin. I've re-started my acting career now at an "older age". I was an actor & singer all through elementary and high school. Parents made me go to college, yada, yada, yada.. I retired from the medical field 2 years ago and decided to re-start my acting career. I attended my first acting class February 2022. I was in it 4 months. I decided it was time for me to hit the road running. It's now December 2022, I booked 3 plays and 2 films. I'm having fun and I love it. What I didn't learn in class is how to handle hateful attitudes and rejection- not from CDs/ directors necessarily but from other actors. I've had to endure racial, sexual orientation and ageism from my fellow actors. My skin isn't thick enough yet to let stuff like that roll off me but I'm working on it. You are absolutely correct in saying acting class is essential. Everything I learned in class I used during the projects I booked. There were things I learned on set that I want more clarity on before I set out "into the woods" again. I started attending class again this past October. I plan to enroll in a couple more in January. Please get back to making videos again. I resonate with how you explain things. I wish you had online classes. I'd take them all. Cheers mate.

I was always encouraged to go to school get a job, save, get married and move to suburbs. So not knowing what I want to do I decided to go school so I can work for gov (good benifits and all). BA in Political SC, then BA in Sociology. When I graduated, Gov layoffs were at its peak due to recession. So then Plan B was to do an MBA in Healthcare. Finally I got the job, a little savings, met someone I wanted to marry. But I was miserable. It didn't fit. One day someone told what can you do even if you don't get paid. All I could think about was movies. But that was not practical, 1st b/c I'm an Introvert, 2nd I have zero experience, 3rd will I be able to provide for my loved ones that depend on me. I was getting NOs to all my very reasonable questions. Suddenly one day sitting in my cubicle I got up and went to the parking Lot to call a local acting school. In the beginning I did not fit but then I realized that acting is being and I loved being me while playing different roles. What scares me is living a celebrity life. That's how I knew that I'm not doing it for fame but I genuinely want to be a great actor and I guess if fame ever comes then hopefully I'll learn to live with that too. BUT right now I just want to work on my craft.. if that makes any sense 🤷🏽♀️

So two years later, but I still wanna share my point of view. :) So a year ago, i was 17, i noticed that every job i had looked into wasn't for me. I didn't like them and couldn't imagine myself in them. And my whole life, acting always came back to me in the form of school plays, even if I didn't even tried. So i decided to give it a try. Now i am almost 19 and i am in my second more professional play in theatre. In February, it's going to be my third, hopefully. And every time i step on stage it feels like home. I simply forget everything that bothers me. I know it sounds strange. And honestly, I dont know who i am, but when i can act i feel like myself. Right, I know I am struggling because i dont know what i can give to the acting business that nobody else can. I am doing a lot of research and many actors on KZbin say: You need to be special! So why would they need me? But isnt everybody special? Well to answer your question: I think my why is, that i always loved to tell stories just like you. When I act i feel like i am me without knowing who i am and I also love the fascination that films, stories and even, the characters can create.

Divine timing or Google algorithm, your video came at the perfect moment. Been doing a lot of introspection on my own personal messaging mission in life. Not a doubt about acting, but the patience of time and the perseverance in the questions asking what drives you in those moments? Nothing lights me up more than a camera and telling a story to inspire others. Thank you so much for sharing this!

Thank you for the video! Such a genuine and well-thought out message throughout, resonated a lot with me. 🙏🔥Also like the role of fame mentioned here: likely, we all seek it, though if it's the only reason, then one will not endure through the journey. Cool!

Thanks a lot! Lately I've been struggling and doubting myself, thinking I was just considering this for fame, but I actually think I do have a place in my heart for good movies and actors with talent, actors with passion, I would love to be like one of them some day. ❤️❤️

My why is that I want to inspire . I want to inspire people using the story on screen. Because I know for sure many films have inspired me to change some of habits in my life. And if I could do that for others as well. Then of course I want too! :)
