This was so interesting thanks for this breakdown of the history of BJDs in the last 10 years. I also find this topic to be so interesting. I am relatively new to the hobby having collected since about 2016. I started with the realistic dolls from Iplehouse, which I still love. I have noticed that there are more male BJDs being created by more companies such as Sartoriaj as well as the 'single' artist type company like Pasha Pasha, LLT, Agatti, and so many more. I have been keeping my eye on a few of these artist dolls, but have not yet jumped in partly because they can be hard to get. I also agree with your assessment of Instagram- it is very sad to follow a particular person but then rarely see their posts, instead see adverts or other posts that I don't even follow! I wonder if the rise in popularity of this hobby has led to the greed factor that can infect any successful interest! Anyway really enjoyed your talk!
