Hi, could you tell me, specially when the switch is located in a paved section, what happens if/when the space between rails gets clogged with dirt and or pebbles? After all, i think its just a matter of time until it happens, but there are still many switches in paved sections like intersections so... I was wondering and I can't find an answer. Are there any mechanisms in place to avoid that from happening?

I am afraid that I am not able to respond to your question properly. While as far as this intersection is concerned, switch located purely on the truck, that is out of road. Therefore no worries for the concerns. However there were many switches locates intersections of big streets and I am not sure mechanism to avoid the problem.

Excellent video and in my family only my mother and her sister are on one between Kyoto and Kobe stations both ways. This train does the Fukoka to Tokyo via Kyoto trips. For those that want to ride one in the US wait for Texas central since they have them on order

It is an automatic, probably programmed in connection with time schedule.

@@btseb8463 definetly not automatic, switches must be human controlled, in this case clearly by distance. Imagine the first tram is 2 minuts delayed out of schedule, if it worked as you said the track would have switched anyway and the two trams would have met face to face.

Guess its automated these days but today I saw a conductor changing by hand when he noticed it wasn't right ( not sure how ) He got out of the tram with a crowbar like device and switched it

Thanks for the vid. The Frankfurt-Brussels ICE service was unreliable when I used in regularly in 2003. To judge by recent social media reports, it's still unreliable, 20 years later.

Border control : Conductor requested to show vaccinations certificate. No other controls. Ticket : Used Eurail Pass. Went to the ticket office and just book the seat.

The Hamburg Hbf is a destination/attraction/spectacle unto itself. If I lived in Hamburg and was ever bored I’d just go to the second level and gawk.
