Great video, sir! I’m ready to take my 13 y/o up his first real mountain. Any favorites in the northern or central Sierra? We’re coming from Truckee.

We just explored this mine on foot but we didn’t get to the end. We noticed the vertical shafts but we’re not brave enough to climb up. Wondering how you knew your way once you climbed to the top levels? Seemed like there were multiple ways to go at times. Also I’m assuming the ladders were sturdy? Was this your first time adventuring through those little tunnels? Could you stand the whole time? I know I just question bombed you but I was so excited when I found your video. I’m very impressed with your bravery!

Shit, you have to be really mentally squared away to do this shit. I'm totally disoriented just watching the video. Seems like everything after the drive in is just straight up. I've ridden motorcycle up and into reward mine with a group that had been there before and we only went in about half the distance you drove in. That was enough to get my heart pumping.

I recall starting up above the ashram just behind the structure - staying north of the creek for a short while. I then recall crossing to the south side and dealing with a few long talus ascents to a few benches, staying close to the stream, but above all the willows. There was no rhyme or reason as I recall second guessing ourselves every step of the way.@@illyavsroamings

Not to be rude, its indeed very beautiful, you go from log to cabin and say nothing. how am i supposed to know anything, like at log, you say, next stop the cabin, 1.5 miles and 2000 feet of gain or something like that. i don't even know where you are.
