What is the cost comparison? Like the Milwaukee costs what for 1:06:00 of run time vs what is the cost of Hercules run time? I wasn't surprised to see the Milw. last longer, but if you're on a budget, Hercules actually lasted less than 10 min longer. Would be curious to know the price difference between the 2 as tested.

Man great update. I remember now watching a few months ago the video of you making the wood top and the side case. I’ve got some things on my set after 2 months of use. I’ll need to make a video as well. Glad to see the update on yours since you remove them everyday whereas mine stay in my trailer. My hand truck attachment is still brand new. I searched high and low for extra drawer dividers and now I would not buy more of them lol. They don’t stay secure bouncing around at 80+ around Houston. Drawers so drag as well on mine. I try to keep the heavier items around the edge like in the fasteners drawer. These are by no means comparable to Milwaukee Packouts or StackTech but it was the right price. I’ve also had the older Ridgid cases from 10 years ago so the compatibility is nice. Now two variations that I think they are missing is the 3 equal drawers and the single large drawer. The 3 equal drawers are actually more useful for power tools like drills and impacts. The single for saws etc.. overall I’m happy. I have 1 - 4 drawer, 2 - 3 drawers, and 2 - 2 drawers. May add a second 2 drawer that I’ll modify to be a single drawer. Suggestion on the latches. You can use zip ties to either wrap around the handle, or around the plastic loop to give it more bite and tension on the spring steel things. Hope that makes sense. I had to do that to my Gen 1 boxes since they changed the profile of the plastic latching hooks. Appreciate the update and your time to making the video.

That old American Iron ain't Metric. The interesting thing about these cordless impacts is that the Battery has to be designed to deliver the current needed for the job. While this sounds obvious, it's not so for air tools. Years ago I sold Mac Tools. One of the mechanics asked for a 1" impact gun since he had started working on more big trucks. I brought him the tool, connectors, and hose, but he only wanted the hose. I told him I would bring them back next week. When I came back he was disappointed in the tool. He thought it wasn't much better than his 1/2" impact. I asked if I could show him how it was done. I changed his air fitting, used the half-inch hose I brought, and hooked up to an air tank I brought. With the same pressure he was running at the shop, the 1" impact gun startled him when he used it. Without the ability to get enough air volume, the pressure wanes immediately. I told him, "Ya gotta let the Big Dawg Eat." I sold him the hoses, fittings, and even the air tank. The tools have been going up in power and the battery voltages have grown in demand, "To let the Big Dawg Eat."

Tip that MAY reduce wind noise. On your front crossbar wrap 550 paracord around it with a few inches between each cord and tie at each end. That will break up the wind. Sounds crazy, but pretty much eliminated the wind noise on mine. May have to do on both front and back.

I like the case! The tool might last about six weeks, if not used. However, at least it is not going to kill if it fails. And yes, I like that color blue. No torque wrench to test the tool? If it can do 950 ft-lbs at 10 sec and 1100 ft-lbs at 30 seconds, I'm guessing you are torquing way over the required 475 t lbs. So when the guy uses the torque wrench and the nuts DO NOT move, you could be over torqued up to probably 950 ft-lbs. If so, just imagine trying to get those off with just a normal air ratchet in the future or if on the side of a road with a tire truck a large hand wrench. This might have been one of the worse tests of a tool I have ever seen. I would trust torque test channel long before this joke of a torque test for a tool. And come back after using it for six weeks and I mean use it and tell us how it held up.
@TheJayHamish
@TheJayHamish Ай бұрын
I really appreciate your feedback. I agree, I am nowhere close to TTC, nor am I trying to be. Rest assured, the company shop mechanics go through and re-torque everything to spec before it rolls out. They have the right tools to handle it. The six weeks timeline, I hope it lasts longer than that but only time will tell. I’ll use it as often as I can and report back with the good or bad that develops. Maybe one day I can afford a big torque wrench to double check what I’m putting down, but not at this time. In the end though, it did what I needed it to do and I was satisfied with the purchase. Again, thank you for your honest feedback. Until next time. Take care
