I like the rear differential, the hardest part is pumping fluid back into them really. Even the front one is not so bad but you gotta take that plastic off the bottom to get to it. That front one probably needs the changes a lot sooner since it is near the hot exhaust pipe. The one in the rear won't be quite as hot since it is going to be mostly from friction and is used really only until you get to around 25 MPH and the vehicle becomes front wheel drive. I added a bit of Liqui Moly molybdenum disulfide additive for gear oil to both differentials. It comes in a 1.75 ounce tube but is has enough MS02 to treat 2.5 liters of oil according to the instructions so you don't need a lot. Don't worry if you add a bit too much, it is a friction reducer. Just be careful if there are any clutches that could slip an make sure that you can use it without causing damage. I know for my 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport SV it is safe. I even asked questions in the Nissan forums just to see if either differential is limited slip or anything special that needs a specific additive.

I skimmed through your other videos looking for the “update” on this project. Did you ever finish it? Run into problems or concerns? I see this video is 2yrs old and I see you replied to another comment about 1yr ago saying that you were going to double the width. Would love to see how it turned out. My step father is getting up there in age and wants to build an elevated stand. He’s a scraper and has some pallet racking. Told him that would probably be the best way to build a solid long lasting foundation. I really like the idea of concrete tube to anchor off.
@whatsnextgarage
@whatsnextgarage Ай бұрын
@@garyminer8907 life got in the way. I have the second set of pallet racking but haven’t gotten back to the project yet. Our idea with the second rack is to build the stairs in between the up rights. So half way up would be in one set, then a platform to rest, then a second set of stairs into the stand. Although we are super busy, that project will get done eventually. The anchors and the structure so far are solid as the day we put it up.

How to do this properly: 1 - Disconnect pump wiring connector 2 - Run engine till it bleeds the supply line dry 3 - Disconnect supply line at tank 4 - Cut bad line with pipe cutter or hacksaw--slowly, so as to not risk sparks 5 - Replace bad line with proper line or hose, fittings and procedure 6 - Reconnect line at tank & pump connector 7 - Run engine

What are the signs of bad subframe bushings? I hear clunks often when I go over a bump. My steering feels loose. Nissan dealer says he could not find anything wrong. I am wondering if he ever checked those subframe bushings. At night it is kinda scary because if you are turning and someone is coming up and partially blinding you that can make it hard to avoid hitting a curb with it feeling imprecise like this. They don't know it but in those situations I am thinking, oh great, please just go already and allow me to make this turn in peace!

@@whatsnextgarage I have an inspection scheduled. I told them that I found this and asked them to look into it while the vehicle is inspected since it most definitely is a safety issue of varying magnitudes depending on the road conditions and all other variables. I even tell them too that as long as it continues to do this I pray that the CVT goes out and I have an excuse to get a better vehicle. I was a Volkswagen owner and I liked it a lot. They have tight steering and that is how it should be. My 2017 is a Rogue Sport (Quasqai over seas) and I expect better. Something just seems amiss with the handling and it was not always like that.
