I don't think this is a prototype/sample of the singing cardinal. I have something similar to this and I uploaded it on my old channel that was a bluebird on a tree stump. I got it in its original box and it's a garden ornament. There's barely any information so I'm guessing these are crazy rare, especially since it was made in the 1990s. It chirped like this and didn't move either. Still, cool find Edit: there's a Robin one on sale right now btw

Hey there, I just received the rock thank you so much! After further inspection, I figured out that this one is indeed a sample! The entire bottom of the rock is made of a clear resin material, and is entirely hand painted. Additionally, the battery cover it has is from 2001. My guess is that this was a mid stage sample/prototype! :)
