I own a Massey 1529 with 28 HP made by Iseki, and a John Deere 4720 with 58 HP. I use them on a vegetable farm. I got the Deere to use for my heavier work such as tillage and mowing, and the Massey is for cultivating, spraying, and planting. Hands down the Massey is the better machine. Parts are less expensive, controls are easier to understand and use, and overall a much better value than the Deere. My next tractor may be a 1835 with cab if I decide to get anything else.

I got an S78 this harvest. First Gleaner since the 90s. In corn I was having trouble with some rotor loss. I took the helicals off the removable section but it didn’t seem to help. Also tried several different rpms on the rotor. What else can I do? Running a 8 row 3000 gleaner head in 195 bu/acre corn at 13%

You can drop 2 of the 4 concave sections down, remove the cover plate that holds the concave wires in place and once the plate is off, remove every other wire. Reassemble the plates, put the concave back in place and see what you get. Also, just to be clear on an 8 row 30 inch head you would need 40 kernels spread across your 20ft swath to equal 1 bushel loss per acre. So if you remove the straw spreader and drop all the rotor discharge right between the rows, you would need 5 kernels in the 2.5ft by 1ft square to equate 1bpa rotor loss.
@kylestyleNE
@kylestyleNE Ай бұрын
Also if the rotor loss goes down after that change you can remove every other wire from all 4 concave sections if you still have too much. I recommend operators start with 2 though as it makes it easier to put it back to factory for wheat, soybeans, etc.

John Deere is expensive and is very cheaply made Deere just wants your money However Massey Ferguson is cheaper and is what you pay for they are built to last and is a lot safer but has less developed technology but is durable and reliable. so there's the clear winner the red clean mean machine.

I have recently looked and compared those exact two tractors. I have never owned a Massey but have had two John Deere’s with no problems. However, there is NO comparison between these two. I my opinion Massey Ferguson was a much better heavier built tractor. Now the question is the dealer? Which dealer will take care of me the best?
@mitchmerz5776
@mitchmerz5776 4 ай бұрын
Great News! We always recommend buying from a local dealer. The closer a dealer is they can be of better assistance in a time of need. Stuff happens and a local dealer is always needed! If you have multiple dealers close then I would absolutely ask them about their service and what they offer for inspections, availability to help at the times you are operating and need them. If their staff is trained on the product you are buying and what their willingness is to help on warranties. Often travel time is not covered under the manufacturer warranty, so another reason to utilize your local dealer!

I really like the concept but did I hear you correctly? It only has a 1500lb. loader capacity? Looks like it ought to handle more than that, especially with the hoe for a counter weight.
@TrueAgTurf
@TrueAgTurf 3 ай бұрын
That is simply the rated capacity, per manufacturer. Often times that is a percentage of what it will actually do. But no manufacturer wants to expose themselves to claiming something more than it will actually do in certain applications for legal reasons. Also often times that rated capacity is the ability to carry that load going downhill at full speed and stopping safely.

I bought a brand new 270T in 2020. It leaked 2 gallons of coolant and 5 gallons of hydraulic oil in the first 12 hrs. Don't even get me started on how crude the hydraulic controls are. The 2 closest dealers...yeah, well, let's just say I'll never buy another JCB product.

What happens after the 48 mo at zero percent? Is full balance due? Or can you finance another 48mo at a low rate?
@TrueAgTurf
@TrueAgTurf 6 ай бұрын
The first 48 months are at 0%. If a customer wants to do 72 month payment schedule the standard rate is applied past 48 months. However this allows the customer to pay down the balance subject to interest. The interest is only applied to any balance still on account past thr 48 month mark.

Great video. I believe the MF 1840M cab will be “the one” for me. I want to run an offset flail mower and top n tilt so the primary deciding factor for me is the ergonomics of the cab, specifically the location of the rear remote control levers. They’re up high on the fender so when you’re turned around and making adjustments to the mower they’re easy to reach. You’re not reaching down by the seat in some awkward position. I’ll probably use the one factory remote to run a hydraulic multiplier with the electric switch mounted in the cab. That way I can control however many cylinders I want. Also, the MF has very high hydraulic flow which is why they have somewhat low PTO HP. But that’s good for running hydraulic implements like a PHD on the FEL. JD needs to revamp their entire compact tractor line and get rid of their proprietary FEL attachment system to be competitive anymore. Thanks for the vid.

I think the power shuttle is the best of both worlds in transmissions. You get more power to the ground and pto with the ease of clutchless directional control. The massey is a heavier tractor also. If you're going to push, pull and lift, you need a heavy tractor .

I love my GC1723E, only problem I'm having is that the bucket will not stay on. Everything is locked down, but when I'm digging into a mulch pile the bucket will come off on one side. Any ideas why or how to fix this problem. It didn't do this when I got it new. It's 3 years old now with 115 hrs.
@TrueAgTurf
@TrueAgTurf 9 ай бұрын
@@Catfish5577 Check 2 spots. #1 without the bucket on flip the yellow handles/levers down like you are locking the bucket into place. make sure that pin is coming down as far as the other side. #2 Inspect the bucket itself. On the backside of the bucket on the bottom there are slots that the pin mentioned in #1 comes down into. Is that slot open, not full of mud or a rock wedged in there? Is it bent or twisted at all? It wouldn't take much before the pin from the loader would not lock into place on the bottom of the bucket. Also check up top on the bucket, make sure the loader is sliding up into place and that there is not something preventing the bucket from going all the way in there.
