it should have been easier to tune Nero than Excalibur because Nero is made out of carbon fiber and has carbon fiber pegs.

I dread untuned violins. My instrument lost a string and got untuned when I was at my concert. I improvised until it untuned and then I just picked up my viola and well. Played violin parts with a viola. It was not as fun tho.

How does a violin go out of tune like that? Her carbon fiber violin itself is still fine so did she knock a tuning peg or something?

Unfortunately, traditional pegs can stick or slip without warning when an instrument is exposed to changes in humidity and temperature. Just moving a string instrument from an air-conditioned room to an outdoor environment can wreak havoc on its intonation.
