why i dont like california chrome. same reason i dont like maximum security or rich strike. the owners made complete asses of themselves. all 3 had great rags to riches stories but the stories got ruined by the owners.

I agree 100% with what he said. You have to earn your way and qualify to get to the derby and it should be the same for the next 2 races too. If you can't run in the derby, why should you be allowed to run in the Preakness or Belmont??

This was really low. And hey, if he had it his way, I guess the TC winners would be so by walking over the Belmont as the others drop out but no one is allowed to move in. Never mind this is common for all racing, people pick their spots and renege, the TC is not a true packaged event so each race is its own thing. You can sign in or out of any race. The coward might be the Belmont winner who has few horses to oppose.

Matterhorn's jockey intentional stepped on Chrome's right front hoof to slow him down. Preventing California Chrome of the Triple Crown. Shame on the Big Money people who couldn't just let him run without hurting chrome‼️

Don't let these rich horse owners fool you. They care about 1 thing, and that's money. Coburn can whine about "history" but if you buy that line, youre gullible. He only cares about the $$$ that he couldn't collect. It's impossible to force every horse to run the whole Triple Crown.

They’re not all rich, and Coburn wouldn’t count either. He certainly was not a regular of racing circles. Sometimes that is a negative, as they do not get it.

Chrome ran his race ,he equaled his Bris fig .but the 3 with the best breeding for the distance beat him,An 1/8th of a mile can beat a horse because Chrome could not accelerate that last 1/8th

This is an example of a non horseman who got lucky enough to be interviewed. He knows nothing whatsoever, but went down in history as the biggest ignoramus, Johnny Come Lately, in horse racing history. I'm surprised his wife didn't sneak away with a bag over her head.

It's not like they suddenly changed the rules. By his logic, Man 'o War shouldn't have competed in the Preakness and the Belmont because he didn't race in the Derby in 1920.

Gotta be honest: no championship ever attained was ever obtained by a team that rested the entire process…except for horse racing. In all other sports, you run the gamut to win a title, or you sit out and watch those who did win. In horse racing: sit out the gamut, and then spoil those who did run it. Adjust the rules so you have to qualify the entire way through, and run it.

The sport has been done this way forever. Every TC winner over the last century had to beat fresh competition. That includes the two since Steve Coburn's rant. After the Derby almost every horse is rested. Only about three or four horses make it to the Preakness. If the aforementioned races have different winners it's not uncommon that zero horses race in all three events. If you had it your way the second and third legs would likely have four entrants to as little as one every year. A horse who wins all three would probably face one to three opponents in the Belmont. That would indubitably spell the death of the Triple Crown. Most importantly, the Triple Crown is nothing more than a title. All three races were run for the initial time in different years. They were never meant to be packaged together. They are three separate races. When Sir Barton won all three in 1919 he wasn't called a "Triple Crown winner". It didn't exist then. But, as more horses won these three distinct, difficult races fans were wowed and gave the few horses who won all three a title: Triple Crown winner. But the TC is not and never was an event. It's an honor given to the very few capable of winning three grueling races against predominantly fresh competition.

We lost our Eddie on 10-13-22 ,hardest thing I had to do was call the vet to put our Eddie to sleep .for 15 years he was my buddy And now their is a void in our life. Watching wft videos is good therapy .

This right here is proof of why losing with some dignity and sportsmanship is key. Just because you won the first two races doesn't mean you've arrived. Its a triple crown. I actually stopped watching horse racing after CC's loss so I didn't see AP win live, but my god is he proof that Coburn was dead wrong. Only the best of the best go thrice!

This is the correct horse- the owners rant "A coward's way out" You need to understand that his horse that he is taking love of care of has lines to Isadore- Mary's or my kingdom. The owner is ranting- which makes sense in the bigger issue- the clan of peasant trash cowards that invaded my mind, stole my 3 trillion dollar fund the 9.11 attack, lived lavish lifestyles on a planet of complete poverty. They are all just trash- all of them. and I mean all of them. Nothing- trash- parading around in a 3 trillion dollar stolen trust fund- literally just a bunch of nothings.

Part of the glory of the triple crown is being able to defeat fresh horses. If we allowed only horses in the derby to run in Preakness and Belmont we would have a lot of triple crown winners. It wouldn’t be special anymore.
