Although I’m English and usually favour British (and Irish comedy, Father Ted) over American comedy. I didn’t find the UK version funny in the slightest. But the US impractical jokers is one of my favourite shows

@@arcadenate I much prefer the awkwardness of it, the constant feeling of treading on eggshells, while to me the US cast just seem obnoxious, they only care about how they’re perceived to each other and the audience, rather than the surrounding public. I think it works better with comedians rather a group of friends. The one thing that’s really poor with the UK version is the editing and production. That intro is horrible and the voiceover is really grating

@@awesomefrankrapid I can see that. The reason I like the original show is the chemistry of the friends, rather than a group of random comedians being put together so I think im just biased cause that's the whole reason I got into the show in the first place.

The reason this version is so shit is because they took away the thing that made it so special. This show isn't about "4 life long friends who compete to embarrass each other" it's just 4 random comedians on a show

I think their first mistake was having one of the jokers be a woman, the rules are just different for a woman aren't they? They generally wouldn't say some of the stuff the other guys would be willing to and assuming she's willing to say just about anything, there's never any real threat of being punched in the face like there is for the guys if they cross the line in some situations.

Whilst nowhere near as funny as the US version (still funny in places though), their main issue is they're too self conscious and not willing to embarrass themselves completely - unlike Q, Sal, Murr and the legend that is Joe!

If you’re going to try to copy IJ. Start with your own material. Name your show something that doesn’t connect you with the US version. Just make sure you create a new story, because IJ actually had a personal origin story connected with the cast and the show. Plz, just start your own version. Call it something like, “Just doing what we’re told.” A reality show or competition show and don’t attempt to make it a comedy.
