@@Wilmeiser yeah, Launch and Eighter in particular are pretty big cases for Toriyama's memory problems, both having been pretty good friends of Goku's back in the OG Dragonball. Launch is the one nobody lets Toriyama live down due to the fact the last time we see Launch at all (outside of the videogames) is a filler scene of her drowning her sorrows over Tien dying in the Saiyan Saga. Eighter got it even worse though. He was a Dr Gero creation and should have at least been mentioned in the Android/Cell saga, but instead his last appearance (again, not counting games) and also only appearance was when he helped Goku dismantle the Red Ribbon Army. And do not get me started on how badly the power pole got treated. It's collecting dust on Goku's door when we last see it, when before it was an indispensable part of Goku's kit and used pretty creatively back in the day. Chi-Chi in the OG Dragonball was portrayed as being a decent chunk more reasonable than her DBZ era and onward portrayal, even joining Goku on the last adventure of the OG Dragonball (which was admittedly so she and Goku could have their wedding without lava being everywhere (makes sense in context) and her anger at Goku being entirely because he forgot about her. Come DBZ and all of a sudden she's a stay at home mom with a massive "traditionalist" mindset. And as for characters getting nerfed to make Goku's training seem better, you can already gather that I consider Gohan an example (heck, in the Z anime and the corresponding manga chapter, they even say he's weaker than he was during the Cell Saga) but there's also what Super did to Tien... and also the fact that Tien seems to have forgotten that he has other moves beyond Kikōhō variants (for example, Solar Flare and Mafuba, although the latter is at least justifiable for him to avoid using it).

Chichi isn't Toriyama's hate sink, she's actually pretty reasonable in the manga (the bit where Goku wakes up from the virus is a good example of her in the anime) She's definitely the anime's hate sink though, mostly to fill time

Yup dragon ball super Goku is a horrible father. Dragon ball z Goku actually cares about his kids though. I see dragon ball super as a horrible fan made what if scenario.

Let’s be a little fair to goku, he isn’t human and we tend to hold him in a “human” standard. Saiyans keep their babies in pods right up until they are ready to be sent off to a planet. Saiyans typically aren’t involved in a child’s development. It’s actually surprising that Vegeta is that attentive lol

@@passarovoador6662 that’s a fair point, Vegeta also started to try and be there for his family. Especially after SP Cell killed Future Trunks. I vaguely remember Vegeta conveying his regret in the way he treated Future Trunks in his inner monologue. his attitude was the same but he did change little by little. Taking trunks to the park after he punched him off of a reflex was surprising lol
