Are you going to do a follow-up review on the new Samsung DeX dock? Your comprehensive review was the reason I bought the Smart Dock several years ago which I used quite happily for several years.

Do you think 3 or 4 bluetooth controllers would be able to do this on a quad or octa core android or would we start seeing interference? And should we try to not have the exact same controller like you did in order to get them to all operate in a different channel and pair properly? I have a pg-9037 and some random chinese ps1 dual shock looking thing. If I bought two more identical ones would they pair fine?

Nickelbawker I've done three player Mario Kart on the original ASUS Transformer and it seemed absolutely fine. From memory they were all different controllers however.

Peter Possibly, the Mayflash one has a PC mode, so it would likely work in that mode. Would be generic gamepad type controls in that case though - no pressure sensitive shoulder pads.

super good video! now i want to install an old Samsung Galaxy s3 as a tvbox for my mom. So I would like to know if you can charge the phone while you have the mhl cable and the OTG connected.
@NZtechfreak
@NZtechfreak 8 жыл бұрын
Yes, you plug in a power source into the MHL adapter. Gaming on the S3 still tended to run down the battery slowly though, it wasn't until the 2A chargers came along that it tended to maintain charge (from memory that might have been from the Note 2 or 3 onwards).

Didn't, bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Samsung phones that work with their dock can do it (same phones will work with cheap reverse-engineered versions of the dock also).

HI Murray Good clear advice but what about how to download pics etc to the device. I have just acquired a SanDisk OTG Dual USB drive. I would really like to know how to download all my vids, pics and some other matter onto device and then I can plug into PC for uploading. I saw that this is the better way to transfer this info. Any hints that you will demo this? Ta

I'm trying to use a 1 TB external drive with my S3 and an OTG Cable but it doesn't seem to work. Do you know what could fix the problem?
@NZtechfreak
@NZtechfreak 9 жыл бұрын
Likely because it is formatted NTFS by default and needs to be Fat32, or because it needs more power than the S3 can supply (a powered USB hub can address that).
@TrashBash
@TrashBash 9 жыл бұрын
Murray Winiata I already formatted it to FAT, then it's the power supply. Can I get a powered USB hub in any electronics shop? Also, does "powered" UBS hub mean that I need to have it connected to a power source or do I just need to connect the external drive with the hub, which is connectected with the phone via OTG Cable?
@NZtechfreak

+Trash Bash Powered meaning externally powered (not sure if battery powered buns available, although it seems like they should be).

why s3 does not support pendrive of capacity 32gb with otg cable? what is solution for this
@NZtechfreak

It should. I would pick the drive is formatted exFAT or NTFS. Format it to FAT32 and it should work (if you're Rooted there are apps that can support mounting NTFS formatted drives).

HI,great video, first time i ve seen it was a couple years when i bought my s3 and now i have a big problem and i hope that maybe you could give me some answer or even better a sulution(uff that would be awsome).The thing is, when I connect my wired Xbox 360 controller to my Samsung Galaxy S3(rooted ,4.3), the lights on the controller don't stop blinking and it seems that s3 does not recognize the controller i cant do anything with the x360 controller.I have read it somewhere that wired xbox 360 controller is natively supported by samsung s3 and its the easiest way to connect x360con,now it appears that is not so easy as i tought it would be,,tried to download famous USB/BT Joystick Centre app, well that was also one of my luckiest moves they ve pulled it from the play store :) and now i just don't have any idea whatsoever.I apologize to all for my bad EnglishEng,is not my native language.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance.
@NZtechfreak
@NZtechfreak 9 жыл бұрын
ridovka Hi! Yes, USB/BT Joystick Centre was pulled from the Play Store, however the dev released a newer version that is still available (although that seems like a very shady move from the dev, so it makes you wonder how long they will support the new app for before the pull it and try to force users to buy yet another new version - if you do get it I would make sure to back up the APK). There may well be a custom ROM that will allow the x360 controller to work, so I would look at that too.

Murray Winiata Hi recently I ordered Fiio E18. I'm wondering would it work as AMP or AMP+ DAC both. I'll be using Samsung galaxy note 2 and Bose QC3 headphone... what are the options or tricks available (such as cyanogenmod, android lollipop etc) if I would like to use it as AMP+DAC both??? Your help is greatly appreciated.
