to be fair, you can just cut open 90 percent of all tonneau covers too. they offer about the same amount of protection from theft. cutting open soft top jeeps and broncos isn't exactly a rampant problem; I'd imagine this isn't either. I'm installing mine tomorrow. i also use an andersen hitch. have you figure out any work arounds to avoid making contact with the 5th wheel?
@GimpyCamper7 күн бұрын
@@Bryan-li8qi The best work around was changing my whole camper suspension. Truthfully it wouldn’t be too hard to remove the 4 screws that hold those rear brackets on.

Good info about the dog friendly places. We were in Deadwood last year and had a great time. We did see a couple of shootouts... but no killings. The historic reenacting group take pride in making their shootouts family friendly. They reenact actual shootings where either everyone missed or their were no deaths. Thanks for sharing your Deadwood experience. - Jim

People, do not do this. Always jack on the frame. You have a great chance of bending your axle jacking on the axle.

And you have a chance of bending the frame too. No perfect solution exists. This is the way they do it at a professional shop.

I have the same brand minus the heating. The issue I have is the vacuum problem. The output duct pushes air out from taking it from the room. Naturally the air that is removed from inside the trailer needs to be replenished. So I open the fan on roof to allow air in. As a result can only cool to the temperature outside. The cold air is being replaced by the hot air from outside
@GimpyCamper20 күн бұрын
@@seandeyoung01 I’ve never had an issue. I definitely don’t open a window. It’s not going to suck the air into a vacuum. It will pull through slide seals and such. Campers are definitely not air tight

Discount tire does tpms rebuild stems that are metal, I had them on two different campers now, and I will say that this last time(about ten days ago now) I had to argue with them about it, the long time employee kept telling me we don't do that anymore. The manager finally heard the argument, he went out into the shop without saying a word, when he return he set four of them on the counter infront of the 25yr employee, and said yes we do. I can be an ass at times and said get that man a raise. Anyway they do still do it, you have to tell them to use the tpms rebuild valve stems, and might have to ask for the manager. Hoping the manager is worth a damn.

Where do you get bar clamps that long? Or did you just get your own bar and attach it to your clamps?

Yes bar clamps just go on any length of bar. It’s a mess and if I had it to do over again I would have used aluminum or new fiberglass

How big is the AC unit on your camper? Does it struggle? Do you have a soft start?
@GimpyCamperАй бұрын
It’s a 15k it does fine but I do power management. I use propane for water heater and fridge, mainly because the fridge had a hard time with the automatic function so if we are off grid I leave it on propane. I do have a soft start but that was to help with some other issues I had with some custom installed wiring. It works fine from the factory plug. The microwave has tripped it a couple times with the air on.
