The word -- word --- refers to CONSCIOUSNESS. It has nothing to do with Preaching. YOU GET THIS COMPLETELY WRONG. Why do you think God has Adam name all the animals in Genesis? Because if you know anything you should know that naming something collectively creates it. This is a really awful interpretation of the message of John's Gospel. You are CLUELESS. You are one of those that has ears but can not see and has eyes that can not see.

Thank you. I have benefited greatly from Dr Carsons writings and edited volumes. I was reminded of the great British Pianist Peter Donohoe who, when asked which piece of music was his favourite, he said it was the one he was working on at the time! Thank you Dr Carson for your faithful work over so many years, making your studies available for the rest of us.

THE GOSPEL 1 Corinthians 15 King James Version 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

John 1.[18] No one has ever seen God; the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known. Jesus reveals the Father and is not the Father. If one takes all of Jesus' sayings in the gospel of John, Jesus as God is not so clear. Jesus also says 'the Father is greater than I' (J 14.28) John 3.[2]: 'Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come FROM God' John 6.[46] Not that any one has seen the Father except him who is FROM God; he has seen the Father. John 8.[42] Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded and came forth FROM God; I came not of my own accord, but he sent me. John 13.[3] Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come FROM God and was going to God,

Not everything Dr. Carson said is complete, when Jesus, the best teacher in history sees his loved disciples walk away, he should have said "wait, you didn't understand". Jesus allows them to leave, because they understood Jesus was literally saying "eat my flesh". Later Jesus transforms bread and wine into his body and blood and gives his apostles to eat before he gives that same body and blood up for us on the cross. If the disciples who left had misunderstood, Jesus would had corrected them, but Jesus did tell us that we must eat his body and drink his blood

I’m wondering how much St John knew Greek?! Did he thought in his mother tongue like me and then wrote in Greek? How much he could express himself and what was in his mind in probably his third language?!

Thanks so much for your overview of this great book! When I had to choose only one sermon to preach from Deuteronomy, I connected chapters 6, 10, and 30 about the heart. God alone does that internal transforming work of circumcising our hearts, a work we cannot accomplish, but he does through Christ.

Hello The gospel is the gospel of the kingdom! Jesus the Messiah suffered and died, God raised him from the dead and exalted him to his right hand! Jesus is going to return and set up the kingdom of God ON THE EARTH! God’s government ON THE EARTH! Believers will rule the nations with Jesus! The Messiah died for his people! God resurrected the Messiah! The Messiah will resurrect his people at his coming! They will rule the nations! The destiny of the Messiah and his people is to be ON THE EARTH! The renewed restored earth! God also dwelling with them! Rev 21 Matt 24 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Jesus said the Father is the only true God! John 17 3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

Dr. Carson misspoke when he said "Exodus 34." It is Ezekiel 34 where the Lord rebukes the shepherds and promises to be the good shepherd. I know Dr. Carson knows that. I am commenting for anyone who is searching for the Ezekiel 34 reference.

Good message from Dr Jackman! I hope the video title isn't saying that only expository (and not topical) is good preaching. The New Testament letters were sermons, in a sense, most of which were to be read aloud to the churches. They were mostly topical sermons. In fact, most went from topic to topic to topic. So we shouldn't say that only one style of sermon is useful.
