I wish Alanis could release an upgraded version of Havoc and Bright Lights which includes the Naysayers, Permission, Big Sur as well as Guru. That would be great! ❤ This album is unjustly underrated, and it’s really beautiful. Hope to see you on the Triple Moon Tour somewhere in Europe soon, hopefully in Sweden ❤

Beautiful things move me to weep. Had I been in that studio hearing Barbra render this song so beautifully, I wudda flooded the room with my unstoppable tears. 😭

4/30/24: I love every song she's ever sung, but this is one of my favorites. When she hits that high note, OMG, I just close my eyes and take it all in!

Disappointing header. It being soundless footage. That the vocal track laid over is stunning..well obviously!😍

i really could have gone without the board meeting footage, but it was nice to see Barbra in her element at that time. No one has done a better job with this song than Barbra. Whenever i hear someone else's version, i immediately compare it to Barbra's recording, and honestly, there is no comparison.

I've been a massive fan of Barbra since 1976. I've listened to all of her albums over and over...who knows how many times? This song and performance is in my top 5 favourites. What a voice...what a talent.

In my name is Barbra she says D5 is her highest comfortable note and had to struggle to sing a Eb5 on the Broadway Album but she clearly sang a fabulous G5 here and on Guilty and in Grandma's Hands she sings up to A5. I think she decides what she wants to do and sings it. She also often sang up to E 5 often in early albums such as in Starting Here. and she also sings F5 on When the Sun Comes Out and on A Sleeping Bee.

I've seen this video b4, i would be more pleased watching Barbra recording this song without those old guys having some sort of a meeting while she's singing 😔 what's the connection?

IMHO this is the single greatest vocal performance by Barbra Streisand in her entire life. No one else can sing like this. No one.
@ericholck39148 ай бұрын
If not the greatest, definitely in the top 2 or 3. That note at 1:12 alone was worth the price of the album.

I agree that it's among the best if not the best. It's kind of its own special thing. When i first heard it, I thought this must be a black singer...So soulful and different from much of Barbra's work.
