It doesn't need analysis son, he just did a Fergie. If you are losing a game chuck on as many fresh attacking options as you can, that way you might win it. If you end up losing by another goal or two so what? You were losing anyway, but if you get a draw or a win you become a tactical genius.

Sort of surprising, really, when you think about how successful Klopp has been at small tactical tweaks (see the latest breakdown of this on the "premier league analyzed" cite, for example). But people forget that Ten Hag got his job by being a tactician (also addressed in an earlier article on premier league analyzed ). Hope he gets more time to prove his worth.

but I hope Ten Hag leaves United or sacked by Ineos tbh. This season wasted 220mil on transfer those 4 players Ten Hag wanted but those 4 have not worked at all. Last season also wasted 140mil on Casemiro for 60mil (already 30 years old and on declining form) & Antony for 80mil (far too predictable). Secondly, the gameplan has been absolute disastrous. I mean leaving one CDM alone to defend throughout the whole game in every single game so far this season!!!!! That is absolute recipe for disaster because opponents definitely exploit that like butter😡😡😡. Now Ineos already coming in, INEOS got to sack Ten Hag at the end of season because don't forget United got to win the PL title next season or 25/26 at worst regardless of who the owners and next manager is. Eventually, no adaptability from Ten Hag is going to seriously cost United and definitely end up like Liverpool early 2000s(3 decades no PL trophy) Don't make me start ranting on Sancho. Because this is Ten Hag's fault for giving Sancho the wrong setup and wrong tactics around him. Why Sancho doing so well at Dortmund is actually the setup and gameplan Sancho is in (Lucien Favre & Edin Tezic)

After this game, everyone was talking about how lucky Man United was. Two of Liverpool's goals came from lucky deflections. Meanwhile Man United had the higher xG for first half, second half, and extra time. Man United dominated all stats like corners and shots on goal except possession. United deserved the win in this game. 💯

I rewatched the whole match a few days ago. Liverpool's dominance of possession in the second half didn't amount to sustained pressure on the United goal, their best chances were all in the first half, when United *were* putting the Liverpool goal under sustained pressure.
