Apply Stewart's theorem to the diagram and we get: AB².DC+AC².BD=BC.(AD²+BD.DC) -- (i) Becase △ABC is equilateral, we have AC=AB; BC=AB; BD=BC/3=AB/3; DC=2BC/3=2AB/3; Using these in (i), we get: AB².(2AB/3)+AB².(AB/3)=AB.[AD²+(AB/3).(2AB/3)] (2/3)AB³+(1/3)AB³=AB.[AD²+(2/9)AB²] (2/3+1/3)AB³=AB.[AD²+(2/9)AB²] AB³=AB.[AD²+(2/9)AB²] Dividing throughout by AB, we get: AB²=AD²+(2/9)AB² i.e., AD²=AB²-(2/9)AB²=(1-2/9)AB²=(7/9)AB² Hence it follows that 9AD²=7AB²

Very nice theorem to solve such questions. But none of my grade-10 students knows about Stewart's theorem as it is not a part CBSE curriculum. I am glad you know this theorem.... You must be a professor in some college where you teach higher mathematics...... am I right?

@R.V Sharma sir half of the problem is that many students are NRI who have to wake up from 4:30 am in chilling morning to attend the lectures....as a very obvious and natural human instinct not everyone can attend the lecture and the one's who can after attending continuos classes of other subjects aren't in the condition to pay the amount of attention required to understand the questions you teach and maybe that's why most of them are facing issues Also most of the students are confused with the annuity thing in books it's written it's paid at the end but on your first comment you mentioned that annuity due and immediate annuity are same ..thus it's a humble request please start recording your lectures just like every other teacher in symbiosis does.. without getting recorded any inappropriate words in their recording The message is from majority of the students ..kindly consider this sir
@r.vsharma51404 жыл бұрын
Okay.....then .. let's start recording again...... But I am afraid that student have inappropriate dialogues/songs played during lectures and it's on record...for instance today (3 dec, 2020)in D- div one student played a song during lecture....thank god it was not recorded. Never mind....let start.

Sir, the question at 29:40 Immediate annuities are annuities paid in the beginning of the period...so sir is the solution wrong since the question mentions immediate annuity while you've solved it for Regular Annuity? Also, The Pune University textbook as the same error throughout the exercises & the theory!!!!!

Sir I had a doubt in trunkation rule! Sir there are times when there are multiple decimals during the course of solving So sir is it only the final result where we must trunkate the decimals or is it everywhere we find non terminating decimals in the solution?
@r.vsharma51404 жыл бұрын
We are truncating only the last answer for the powers or the numbers related to power expansion.
@aayushkumar55134 жыл бұрын
@@r.vsharma5140 Okay sir..so that means if we are multiplying x³ & y² to get the final answer Only the final result's decimals would be truncated while all of decimals of x³ & y² would be considered Right?
@r.vsharma51404 жыл бұрын
Yes......it would better if you ask this truncation in lecture...when ever there is our lecture please ask.....because we are following truncation rule only for our Symbiosis exams.......I will explain again clearly.

CORRECTION: 2.5 YEARS = 30 MONTHS (NOT 29)
@siddhantwaghmare75744 жыл бұрын
No sir......I think it's 29 months only. Bcoz when we multiply 2 with 12 then we get 24 months. And when we add remaining 5 months then we get 29 months

But if we multiply 2.5 directly with 12 then we get 30 months.
