How did you disengage the horn Dave…… Don’t suppose you could show a video of that?

I initially disconnected the Battery, once the noise had stopped I was then able to hunt down the Horns and disconnect them before reconnecting the Battery.

Hi there hope your well and safe. Just watched your video on your mg zs ev. I was horrified about your problems with your mg how's are things going now. I've just got an mg5 and very pleased with it but will keep a keen eye on any rust problems. Kind regards Mark

Interesting videos , I’ve been looking past couples if days at buying a 19 plate at around 12k I wondered why they were cheap, the under protection and rust is shocking ! And the electrics don’t do it any favours , are you all sorted now ? Did they repair the car ?

Sorry for the late reply, but I can confirm that the car did indeed get repaired, it required a new Fuse Box and wiring loom along with the paintwork repairs to the corrosion issues, the underside was also fully under sealed, the car did run fine after the repairs which took six weeks. I was relieved to swap it for an MG5 LR which is a much better car in my opinion, I have had no issues or concerns with this car, in which we have done around 7K miles so far in it.

White Dacia dusters had corrosion issues too strange that, it sounds like there's an issue with the fuse box or loom

Basically you made a video about parts of the saying they where not designed for uk winter. Well no manufacture designs for uk winters period silly statement. You then went to talk about suspension structure where you said again not design for uk and would rot through without any evidence without consulting vehivle corrosion data etc ok you purchased a car with issues You could reject the vehicle as unfit and of poor quality But you left no method of comment on that video. About your dubious corrosion theories. Most people give cars a good water jetting off after abd before winter so your mud trap would be cleaned anyway. Again you make reliability comments about landrover. Well we all know that landrover are not reliable. There is many years of evidence that tells us landrover build quality had been extremely poor well into the mid 2000s. So the range rover yourvare sat in has huge historical well documented corrosion issues tail gates rear wheel arches, doors floor pan etc. Electrical issue ecu failure well documented . You have 1 vehicle with issues it not conclusive nor are you being totally truthful. Yes you got issue with your one car we had 4 new defenders go back in 3 months but i cannot say there are less or more reliable because there not enough data. I own a 20 year old vauxhall omega it not rusting it not let me down where my insignia last 3 day before a major failure took it off the road for 10 week but i cannot my the 20 yr old omega's are more reliable. Can you see you neec to be more evidence. You have a MG Warrants the metal body panels of your new MG car against perforation due to corrosion, which is the direct result of defects in material or manufacturing process. Perforation is defined as corrosion or rusting through of a body panel on the vehicle from the inner surface, to the outer surface (resulting in a hole). A 7 years anti-perforation warranty applies to the MG ZS from the date of registration. Which checked by deal at annal inspection. But remember car are design for a maxium life of 10 years they are dispposible products. What you point out is common on mist modern car my 9 rav4 hads similar staining in the past volvo and mazda and landrover all had similar what your pointing out is normal for many brands especially budget brands like mg Dacia suzuki etal.

Interesting to see under the MG, you can see they did the battery pack as cheaply as possible, there was a huge unused space left where the fuel tank had been. The MG was top of my list, second hand, if I do go that way I will take a good look underneath, especially being in Scotland

A pity, it looks such a nice and useful car. But how frustrating !! clearly useable in its present state. Hope u get it back - in fully working order - soon. ( I was looking at the MG and at the RR back catalogue and wondering which might be the better buy.... your ‘adventures’ with yr MG certainly push me more towards the older vehicles...). Thanks.

Love the rangy, from a time when range rover were still a half decent car, though the gearstick was prone to snapping, I ended up just attaching a pair of mole grips to mine at one point between repairs 😂 Shame about the issues with the MG, I have seriously been considering one. Those rust areas are all too common on modern day cars sadly.

hi why did you turned off the comments for under the car video. I am so happy that you are showing problems that the MG ev is having the underside of the car seems to have very poor protection it may be an idea if you own one to do your own underseal protection. would or should you expect a car to show any rust at that age ??

Obviously, I can see you are unhappy: but rather than rubbish the brand and reduce the value of the MG car for the rest of us, why not just sell it and move on to some other car?

@@davenewbery9403 your electrical problems are related to a drivers door wiring loom that needs replacing. I bought my MG ZS EV in March and cannot praise the car enough from the comfort/build quality to how cheap it is to run by charging at home on Octopus Agile tariff. It does sound like you don’t have a proactive / helpful dealer like I have as prior to collecting my MG on 1st Mar the drivers door wiring loom along with available software updates had been completed. I really don’t think negative videos like this do yourself any favours as the brand is going from strength to strength and is now a major player in the UK car market.

The brand is setting itself as a cheap brand these problems are not to be hidden on the MG owners website there is a poll about rust Yes the brand is doing well all ev are doing well and if you are only keeping the car 3 years then in most cases who cares about underneath as long as it works the MG zs ev has a low listing on website for miles to kWH at 3.4 I have to back up what i say with this car only came here this year with there discount for £22.500 there are cars on autotrade etc were there are 318 for sale. the lowest price £18.999 430miles done - www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202010185141599?make=MG&fuel-type=Electric&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=Used&price-from=500&sort=price-asc&postcode=ne63bj&advertising-location=at_cars&radius=1500&page=1 Most EV's hold there value . The MG is not. after a few months the car value for them has dropped. that has to say some thing

@@usfouru2 not highlighting problems that clearly exist doesn't help any car brand at all. If you spend money on a brand new car, no matter what the cost, that has defective issues, then highlighting the issues (the corrosion issues seem to be very common if you look at mg owners forums) is good for potential owners. The dealer clearly dragging their feet.
@usfouru2
@usfouru2 3 жыл бұрын
@@motr1912 there are no corrosion issues with many 1000’s of sold mg zs EVs. This particular owner has gone public about their issue which they have every right to do but I personally think every car manufacturer have their issues e.g new vw ID3 has reported 12v battery issues at the moment and Tesla have terrible paint , water ingress, badly spaced panels etc so the cost of a vehicle has nothing to do with the issues a buyer can experience. I think it’s personally pot luck as I’m having some basic internal trim rattles in my mg zs EV which are easily fixed. Everything about this car is great and exceptional value for money and I’m only 6500 miles in. Watch this video on Tesla build issues kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2fYg5ubgMp8bLs

Oh dear me. There we all were, thinking, "MG is back!" It seems as if the build and R&D quality hasn't moved on since it went bust the last time. The stuff that's gone wrong on this one is design flaws. These are a carry-over from the ICE version and ought to have been designed out of the EV version. Water in the electrics? That's unforgivable in the modern age, quite frankly. Underbody corrosion? Wasn't this thing dipped in zinc primer during the early build stage... like say a VW, a Fiat, a Vauxhall or EVERY other car out there? This is deeply troubling and the Chinese manufacturers need to take swift action to alleviate the issue.
