Have you ever recorded them running around and acting crazy? Three times I have recorded them on the ground acting just goofy as hell. Two times it was with another guan, but one was alone.

I saw this article, im from Pérez. And I have been in similar situatións I have seen similar bridges , I know costa rica has lots of Mountain ranges but I swear here in Pérez is dificult to find flat áreas, is so mountainous even for costa rica standards. when you find yourself in a mirador Just looking how rugged the terrain is how many things you can see from the diference of altitude, the diferent peaks on the horizont, sometimes a good breeze and if you find yourself Lucky even a good sunset those are the Moments that make me feel thankful Just marveling at this creation of mother earth or god or what ever you wanna called it . I have been around lots of parts of CR and honestly I think no other cantón has the viewpoints we have here, CR is small but in some ways we are isolated because of the Mountains,Is amaizing. I enjoyed the article it was fun. I have seen those kind of bridges and when I read your article it teleport me to those instances hahha .

Awesome. The porcupine on the ground was cool. We had a one eyed ocelot(?) as well.
@guanacastewildlifemonitori81942 ай бұрын
Hey. Thanks. I get one eyed ocelots fairly frequently. I suspect that it is damage to the reflective layer in the eye, the tapetum, and probably not a missing eye most of the time. A few times I've recorded individuals with one shiny eye at night and then again during the day and the eye looked normal.
@OchoVerde2 ай бұрын
@@guanacastewildlifemonitori8194 that is my experience with ocelots as well.. sometimes even tepescuintle are one eyed

Great clips! I'm impressed that you were able to hide the cameras so well from the agoutis! 🤣 At 1:08 porcupine and tamandua together was outstanding! I'm looking forward to chacking my cameras 🎥 again in a few weeks.

That is not his/her nest, is it? Just checking it out for some reason? They usually nest in structures or maybe under ledges.
@guanacastewildlifemonitori81946 ай бұрын
The big nest is a jabiru nest. There were no eggs or chicks in there, so I guess it was just visiting.

What a beautiful bird! Its bright red head, largish size and automaton-like movements remind me of what Gene Sparling said of the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker he reported he saw. Large, funky, cartoonish.

Hi Vincent! I saw a large colony of these in a tree near the ruins in Ujarrás, right next to the creek. It was fascinating watching them fly in and out of their nests and listening to their calls.

Very cool, I love it. But why did all the clips have to be cut to 2 seconds (all but the last one)? Many would have been great to see just a little more action in view of the camera! Yes the whole thing would then be longer, but bring it on!!

Thanks. I want to say margay but I've had cameras on and off of this property for years and have only recorded ocelots. I try to fight the urge to say the more exotic thing, so I'm officially going with ocelot until I get more clear evidence.
