If you have a newer gas stove, this wont help. There is an igniter relay that is shorting out and needs replacing. Call a repair man, the part is not that expensive

My stove is approximately 6 years old and this fix works every time for it.

So why does a dirty igniter click.I would think if it was dirty it would have more tesistance and so click less or not at all.
