Best way, someone could have explained it to me vs, just that's a knock, and that's a tick. Thank you. Sometimes, I struggle with depicting sounds from other sounds, like one sound will sound exactly the same as another, and now I understand... hearing is definitely selective, and it may be a little off, but thank you. I appreciate this video

I do believe some of the disconnect with the idea of idling is people not completely understanding that necessary idling isn’t a bad thing and is part of the intended use of the motor but unnecessary idling add unneeded wear. Warming up by idling after the rpm’s have dropped is unnecessary idling. Now if there is ice on your windshield and you cannot see to drive until the defrost has corrected the problem is necessary idling. It is situational to what is possible and what is ideal.

@@autoguydiy4244 yeah mine did after i changed timing cover gaskets and water pump. after i changed water pump twice the timing cover started leaking coolant to the outside on driver side i done all this right before it got really cold then noticed it and i freaked out. but everything looks good so i guess its normal and everyone i talk to says theirs do the same.
@Michael-B4114 күн бұрын
i changed pump twice because first one from oriellys went bad after 400 miles but i did notice it had a out of balance look while running so probably got dropped or damaged in shipping so i warrantied it and second one they gave me was still sealed unlike the first one. Parts new are getting questionable sometimes. i shouldve went with gates first go around but time will tell
@davidalonzojr861715 күн бұрын
I think I mentioned this on a previous short but my RAM starts generating minor heat within 5 minutes but as I start driving, it gets warm faster. It's because the coolant is circulating better like it should. As my temperature gauge rises, my heat gets hotter. I know the idle process with the RAM is not a good idea, but I'll be honest, I have been letting it warm up no less than 5 minutes in the cold weather for the past decade of owning my truck. Never had a problem.

It’s the way I have done all my vehicles. I believe the is programmed into the computer to hold the higher idle till the cylinders are warm enough to run a higher RPM.

@autoguydiy4244 hello buddy first love you're videos. I'm a guy. I'm having issues with the accelerator. Change the throttle body. Comp sensor ,cam sensor the pvc value, crank sensor. Truck still has the volt light. Turns off. But it runs good when I start it rpms good. But as soon as I give it gas it shuts down. Was going to change the padle sensor but it feels like it works doesn't go down when I start the truck and runs rpms good. I just need you're opinion please
@autoguydiy424414 күн бұрын
@hugoboss5008 could be a couple if things. 1 vacum leak around your intake. 2 could be the pcm freaking out and making it go into limp mode. 3 could be a partial clogged cat. I would start there sir

Is there a difference between heater core & thermostat?
@autoguydiy424416 күн бұрын
Yes there is
@autoguydiy424416 күн бұрын
The heater core is under the dash in the truck on the passenger side. The thermostat is under the hood. Heater core is designed for the heat in your truck and thermostat regulates the temp so the truck doesn't overheat

I'm not going to lie. When it's very cold, I let my 03 run for at least for 15 minutes.
@autoguydiy424416 күн бұрын

@porkchopblack59116 күн бұрын
Flush heater core bro. I did that, by following the instructions on one of his videos and it works just fine. Also, I had to change the blend doors. I had to change all four of them. I did it during the summertime. I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 hemi 287,487
@autoguydiy424416 күн бұрын
Check passenger floor board. If wet then heater core went out. If not wet could be a clogged heater core or bad blend doors like porkchop said

@@cliffordthomas3723 Within five minutes of warmup of my RAM, I get a little heat but the coolant is still cold. Once I start driving, it gets warmer quicker. Even if I let it run a little longer than 5 minutes, my heat will start warming up.

@@autoguydiy4244 so basicly the stoplights didnt turn off instantly after letting go of the pedal. It kept lighting up for a minute or so. I ordered a new switch and replaced it. Didnt help. I also noticed that my third didnt work despite putting a new bulb in there. after a few days i decided to mesure the resistance of the bulb in the third light just for funs and giggles and it turned out to be a faulty bulb from the factrory. Replaced the bulb and hopefully it works now. Took a decent ammount of money and several hours for this simple fix haha.
