I don’t think the main menu difficulty level makes any difference whatsoever. The teams individual difficulty is randomised throughout the tournament. I had a good Argentina team in the Semi and a very poor England team in the final. Also once you manage to take the lead, dribble the ball in the corner, they can’t tackle you from behind and you can stand there to run out the clock.
