70g caster sugar 250ml milk 20g black tea 3 egg yolks 2 gelatine leaves soaked in room temperature 250ml whipping cream Put 35g sugar in a pan and melt until it turns dark caramel. Remove from the heat and pour in the milk. Put back on the heat and blend the caramel and milk together. Pour the black tea in the milk and caramel mixture and steep for 20 minutes. Once done, pass the mixture through a muslin cloth to remove the tea leaves. Whisk the egg yolks and the remaining sugar until pale. Pour in the tea-milk mixture and mix thoroughly. Pour everything into a pan and bring up the temperature until the mixture is thickened but not boiled. Squeeze out excess water from the gelatine sheets and add into the heated mixture. Stir until completely dissolved. Whip the cream until it reaches soft peaks. Fold everything together slowly. Pour the mixture into small pots and chill in the fridge overnight. Serve within 1-2 days.

It wasn’t! I mean it’s not Malaysian price when you dine out in London. It was just over £30 per person which I think is quite reasonable in London for a decent restaurant. It helps that it’s located in zone 2 (almost zone 3) so everything is a tiny bit cheaper.

You are most welcome! My experience at Yuzuya Ryokan was absolutely amazing. Apart from breakfast, they also do lunch and dinner in the hotel. Unfortunately I was sight seeing outside the ryokan during the day so couldn’t enjoy the other food options. It looks good on their website tho. You should definitely check them out☺️✨

@@ciganyweaverandherperiwink6293 The one we went to in Kyoto has TV in the room but it's a small and old tv that it's basically just a monitor. We didn't get to use the TV at all during our stay since we were always out exploring the city and eating amazing food. We were also too tired to watch any TV by the time we got back to the room. Unfortunately, I am not aware of a sister hotel. If having a TV in the room is important to you, I suggest emailing the hotel for more information. If they don't have a TV, maybe bring a tablet? These ryokans look traditional but they all have good internet access. Hope this helps

I don't watch any TV here in England (I don't have the time or interest in it) but when in non-English speaking countries I find their broadcasting fascinating-- and relaxing too, after I've been out 'exploring the city and eating amazing food'.
