People say only the current news media tries to affect elections. I think it was CBS maybe, did a rather glowing review of him early when he began his campaign. I saw that and then I knew he had it in the bag. However unlike with Obama and Biden, at some point during his tenure the MSM sort of turned on him and pretty much helped Reagan replace him. An unthinkable sin for the current sort of MSM we have.

Regarding the songwriting, I know very little about it, but it's interesting that the record The Band made in the 90s, without Robertson, was a bunch of covers.

I always felt Robbie was a bit of a slippery character. Having said that, at some point a grown man has to take care of his own affairs. The other members (except Garth)thought that the party would never end. Is it Robbie’s fault that they didn’t see the big picture?

I wonder who did this first, Syd or Jimmy? I'm sure they both ripped the idea from someone else, but knowing Zeppelin's track record of not giving credit for taken songs, I'd bet Jimmy stole the idea from Syd 😂

If I'm not mistaken, Jimmy Page put the mirrors on the Telecaster when he was in The Yardbirds. I believe Jeff Beck gifted Jimmy Page with one of his Telecasters for helping him replace Eric Clapton in The Yardbirds. On Led Zeppelin 1, it's definitely the Telecaster that is mostly used. Good snippets of Babe I'm Gonna Leave You and Ramble On. Cheers! ✌️🎸

I have to say since I happen to know pretty much about Claptons Telecaster use that first he played that red one beteeen -963 to 1966,, he played the red Telecaster in Ysrdsbirds and s Natural colured with a Fosewood Neck. After that he switched to a Gibson Led Paul untill 1974 or 1975 egen he switched to a Stratocaster. In 1982 Clapton was completely fed up with the Stratocaster and started playing High gain Humbuckers for a few years. It was actually George Harrison WHO finaly in 1974 or 1975 got Clapton to start play Stratocaster. George Harrisons absolute favourite guitar was the Fender Stratocaster. George was goding to buy a Fender Stratocaster in 1956 but was told they did not exist in England At that time because of a US embargo. The embargo was lifted in 1964 and George Harrison immidiately got hold of his belowed Fender Stratocaster. From then on George Harrison almost exclusively recorded electric guitar parts for the rest of his life. George Harrison is considered ” The biggest fan of the Fender Stratocaster of all musicians ”. But back yo Clapton when he recorded and played live with SCREAMS he could be seen with s Telecaster, same with Blknd Faith. So the Telecaster was with him all the time. From Yardbirds to John Mayal to Cresm to Blibd faith and the rest of his solo career. It was written in a book that Clapton had used a Telecaster on every album from 1963 to 2021. Of course you font see him in the studio, but they did film from the Aonim he made with JJ Cable shere Clapton plays Telecaster on most songs. There is a 12 minute video of Clapton playing on the Telecaster in 2006. That you saw few Telecasters in the auction was surprisibg because in lots of those charity aucyions there were quite a few. In 1999 there were 5 or 6 Telecasters on the auction that Clapton had used heavilu. Its a bit vind using that he says that the Telecastered was not fearured very much live, inplying that it sss mostly made for the stiduio. But in fact Clapton used a Telecaster live from 1963 to 1989 to different degree. A / Montgomery your of Japan Clapton only played Telecasters on. Same for a tour of US for 6 months in 1976. When Clapton was asked about The Telecaster in the official Telecaster book they say ” Sr font ser you very often with Telecasters their datys” Clapton respondent immidiately ” But I do play them all the time and I buy then all the time. The Telecaster has Bern with me since say one and its still with me yoday, its deffinitely my kind of guitar”. Clapton has not Bern s Stratocaster since 1982. After getting fed up with the Fender Stratocaster in -992 and had played John gain Humbucker guitars for s few years Fender spproached him and wanted to signature him.Clapton told Fender ” If you make me the absolute most powerful guitar in the world on the world I sogn with Fender. Fender suceeds in biodling the most powerful the world had ever seen. Its still the most powerful guitar rosat. Clapton getting an enlrmous smount of money and the most powerful guitar in The world signed with Fender. Thats the guitar he has played since early 1986. Its the absolute highest guitar in the world. It has 149 times higher output than a Gibson Les Paul. The Clapton signature has an enormoisly powerful preamp that makes th guitar super High gain. The Clapton signature Stratocaster is always active it needs a 9 volt battery to Work. Thats its active makes its stacked Humbuckers ( Vintage Noiceless ) 3 times more powerful as active and the Sticked Humbuckers measure 29,4 Khoom. But output is measured in volts and The Clapton signature Stratocaster has 17,8 volts. A PAF Humbucker has less than 0,13 volts. Lowe than low output Humbuckers. Active High output pick ups like the EMG 95 can measure - volt or 1,1 volt, but very far sway from the extreme power of the Clapton signature Stratocaster. So to me Clapton has not been a Stratocaster since 1982 because his dignature Stratocaster is by no means a Stratocaster, of course Fender can call it whatever they want. But not fair to customers coming to buy a Stratocaster maybe chosed S The Clapton signature Stratocaster and gets the absolut most powerful guitar in the world and that a Will break their amps immidiately. On the rist Crossrosds Auctikd smong those 6 very often bu Clapton Telecasters was one 1952 Fender Relecsstet that had beeen very much used by Clapton booth in The Studio and in live shows. Its strange to heat a clmment like they were not use.d very much in live settings, when you can see him with Telecasters playing then live every year of the sevdntiees and lots live in the eightess as well.

Clapton was probably to drunk in the the seventiies to rremember he tourered with Telecasters every tour.. a And saldo in the sictiees he used Telecasters every year when touring. It was only the first 3 years he used The stelecaster exclusively and the tours of 1975 in Japan and 1976 in US. In other tours he used it for 4-5 songs. So Clapton has indedd been a big fan of the Telecaster and I have seen during the years At least 100 Fender Telecasters heavily used by Clapton auctioned . Its a pity one can not send Photos here because The Telecaster has really been with him all the times the regular Stratocaster ge only used netween 1984- or 1975 untill 1992, after that he has never recorded again with a regular Stratocaster since 1982.

After decades since buying my first Gibson, I finally rolled the dice: purchased a new-in-factory-sealed box Gibson '61 SG Standard in white with '61 burstbuckers from an online retailer. Fit and finish was near perfect, setup and intonation perfect, everything was good to go out of the box. It was so good, that I also got the Epi inspired by Gibson custom 1963 SG LP Custom in white.

I'm 58 and definitely recall in the 1980s any guitar that had 'Made In Japan' on it , no matter what brand being considered inferior much as people think of 'Made In China' more recently, although most guitars made in Japan are considered top of the line now, i.e. my Japanese Ibanez RG550 and Japanese Fender Boxer Stratocaster and to be honest some of the guitars i currently own made in China are incredibly well made as i believe that with the advent of CNC milling there has been a great improvement in consistency, that isnt to say everything made in China is quality (far from it) but its not the stigma it was ten years ago

Definitely. In my old age, I feel like the music back then was just objectively better, lol. Either way, early seventies has some of the best overall acoustic music I personally have ever heard! Led Zeppelin III definitely a great album. I remember when people said it was overlooked compared to IV, Houses of the Holy, etc. But I would argue that Led Zeppelin 3 has held its own over the years as a truly awesome album. Cheers

Japan does make good electronics. Regardless, we still need a stronger manufacturing sector in Canada and the United States. I like that Telecaster. When I think of those guitars, I think of guitarists like Jeff Beck and Keith Richards, whom I've seen live. I noteiced Tumbling Dice and Can't You Hear Me Knocking, from The Rolling Stones being played. Cheers! ✌️🎸

I had a red japanese squire strat with an HSS set up my parents bought me in 1991. It was a really great sounding guitar. i wish i still had. Very high quality. I took it for granted that a guitar would stay in tune, and you could beat it up, throw it around, but it would stay intonated.

Those people who say that usually have no idea of what they’re talking about, an acoustic guitar with an electric system will work fine with a electric guitar amp all an electric guitar amp has is the added ability for overdrive aka distortion but running on the clean channel won’t make it sound like an electric guitar!

Hi that's a brilliant review, can you please tell me how the action is on the Guitar low ot high? And is the fretboard wide ? I know this video is a couple of years old but I just came across it because I was looking for cat Stevens album reviews. I'm almost 68 and I bought every cat Steven's album on vinyl since 1970. But I have to ask you was there a significance of having the TV on to MSNBC while you were recording this video? Why not just turn the thing off? MSNBC is not the issue it's just why did you have the TV on?

I listen to it a couple more times with good earphones on and still think the ESB has a smooth, easy warm listening sound to it and the ES two has a high nerve jangling harsh sound to it. However, I must now add a caveat. I understand that with the es-2 you can adjust the sounds at the bridge with an Allen wrench. So I reserved judgments between the two until I see a video on that.
