Not hellgrammites, those are stoneflys, much different but those are the husks from the larvae and fish do love to eat them.

Every so often they grow wings and fly! They have a big set of pinchers on the front of them! And when we were kids and we would go to the mountains in the summer. We were more afraid of hellgrammites then bears! I've seen hellgrammite lures in the bait shops

What fly did you use? I love using tiny gurgles, they got a crystal flash tail, ice dub body, and I throw some rubber legs on there too. It’s great watching them strike on top!

Nice choice I would wrap it in a mildew resistant plastic like a shower curtain first and then spray the fabric in Guardsman 462000 Weather Defense Outdoor Fabric Furniture Protector

This is the best lesson I've seen on KZbin. I've ran $65 max catch rods, lamson reels and Rio flyline for years. Good flyline makes cheap rods great, and bad fly line makes good rods miserable.
