Doesn't it seem that after this movie came out, in 1983 I believe, that the whole fookin world stopped making sense?

Sadly this era never ended. Egotistical, narcissitic men in big, huge suits still dominate, greedily stomping on and over anyone that gets in their way. What's weird is how so many, to this day, still shower them with awards, give them honour and praise them to the skies!

Love this! David is a musical & performance legend. The big suit idea is pure genius. This song is quite addictive and really gets you in the mood to move. Excellent and pure fun. Thanks David!

What a concept this whole gig was, starts with him walking out on an empty stage, with a beat box playing a drumbeat for psycho killer.

Excellent excellent excellent check out the suit. If you look back in 1950, you will see a lot of technology was going down back. a lot of deals were being made. This song is about the underground bases. And what goes on there and how they control the top side? It's fallen angel technology. And that girlfriend with smoke in her eyes. That's lilith or she goes by a thousand different names.. There was never such a thing as entertainment. That's an illusion... Didn't anybody see the music contracts on the egyptian hioglyphs on the pyramid...lololol

I can hear it. Sounds almost like Billy Gibbons/ Dusty Hill singing a Sly & the Family Stone joint. Maybe throw in a little Tom Waits and Andy Kaufman, too.

My favorite bit is 3:54 that crewman had nerves of steel to be put on the spot like that and still sing in sync while also sounding not much worse than the actual singer of the band.

It strikes me as maybe not being the first time David Byrne had put him on the spot like that 😅

(Lyrics) Now let me tell you a story The devil, he has a plan A bag of bones in his pocket Get anything you want No dust and no rocks The whole thing is over All those beauties in solid motion All those beauties, they're gonna swallow you up Let's go Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi Hi One time too many Too far to go Hi, we've come to take you home And when they split those atoms, it's hotter than the sun Blood is a special substance, and they're gonna pray for that man So wake up, young lovers The whole thing is over Watch out! Touch monkeys All that blood gonna swallow you whole Let's go Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi (oh) Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi Hi What's that? Who's drivin'? Where we goin'? Who knows? Hi, we've come to take you home, ooh How many people do you think I am? Pretend I am somebody else You can pretend I'm a millionaire, a millionaire washin' his hands Rattle the bones, dreams that stick out A medical chart on the wall Soft violins, hands touch your throat Everyone wants to explode! Now when your hands get dirty Nobody knows you at all Don't have a window to slip out of Lights on, nobody home Click, click, see ya later Beta beta, no time to rest Pika pika, risky business All that blood'll never cover that mess Let's go! Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi Hi So soft, hard feelings No tricks, let's go Hi, we've come to take you home Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi Hi Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi Hi Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi Hi Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi

During covid I took a job in a Restuarant Depot warehouse. Stocking all day; cases of canned food and soda, 50lb bags of flour, and 100lb bags of rice. My hands ached...For some reason they had an amazing mix track they played in the store. This is one of the songs that would play in circulation daily, and I swear just working to those sounds made me look forward to each morning.

David: It was an inspiration I had when I was in Japan. And a man over there told me, you know, in the theater, everything should be a little bit bigger than real life. And he was referring to, I think, gestures in the way you talk and whatnot. Wow, that solves my costume problem right there.
